Chapter 40

Deimos' POV

'I see you haven't changed, Lucien Deimos.'

"You speak as if you know me personally", I said flatly, turning to the white wolf. 'But I do. Have you forgotten me already?' She asked, her eyes widened in slight disbelief, then she turned away. 'Well, it was a long time ago. I wasn't even a Commander then. . . ' she trailed off, then she glanced back at me. 

'It's rude to just forget a person like that.'

"If you left a lasting impression on me then maybe I wouldn't of forgotten."

'Oi, that's even ruder.'

I sighed, then looked back at Elliot, who was trailing behind us quietly. She was silently staring at her feet, her breaths escaping her lips in large white vapors. She then looked up, realized I was looking at her, and quickly looked away. I tilted my head at her sudden action, then looked down at where our hands were joined. 

I guess she's embarrassed by our joined hands. I once heard that women took physically contact very seriously. Did she want me to let go? If she didn't, but I still let go, how would she feel? Solving these questions on my own was much harder than I thought. If Erebus was here-

I closed my eyes, and turned around. 

I shouldn't think of these things now. I have more things to deal with.

'That girl. . .'

I turned to the the white wolf. 'Are certain that she's your mate? I know what I said earlier about you two, but I still can't believe it.' I blinked at her, then looked ahead. 

'Don't worry, This is a Closed Link. She isn't listening.'

I nodded, then decided to speak in my mind. 'I wasn't too sure about it as well. I didn't believe it at first, but I've come to accept the existence of a bond. I'm hoping to learn more about it when I get to Spring Haven', I explained, before staring ahead.

'I hope you don't mind, but I have a few questions that need to be answered. . . about your mate.'   

I narrowed my eyes. 

I already knew about what she was asking. So I answered her before she could ask a single question.

'Elliot was an Omega at a pack called Moonshine. She had been there only for a few years, which meant that she lived elsewhere for her previous years. Where she had been or what she had been doing previously is unknown to me and most of the people around her. Out of all the people I mindlinked, no one among knew a lot about her. Maybe that's due to the people I mindlinked. The strangest thing about her was her strange personality, which changed due to the stimulus that the environment around her created. Over all, her personality is mostly child-like for her age, but it automatically changes around different people, different environments and different events. In my case, she expresses her childish traits the most when she's with me, and expresses her more adult trait with those that are strange or untrustworthy. This may be due to her troubled past.
