Deimos' POV

Chains.

They wrapped around my consciousness as soon as I fell asleep. As soon as I let down my guard. I woke up to complete darkness. An endless void of absolute nothingness. The moment I relaxed my body, the moment I fell into slumber, it happened. The chains tightened, pulling me to my knees. I looked down at the chains, which slowly tightened around my form. The sound of the grinding metal was all I heard. It was the only sound that echoed across the black hole that was my mind.

I lowered my head.

This wasn't the first time this happened.

It happened a few times before, all of them occurring centuries apart. Zeref was the cause.  This was what happened when he tried to consume my consciousness. Spiritually, chains will latch on to my body, and would try to make me one with the consciousness of Zeref. I would often get pulled all the way through the darkness, and into an unknown realm within me, a place I couldn't comprehend.

Erebus would often be the one to save me.

With every ounce of strength I had within me, I pulled against the heavy chains. Of course, nothing good happened. The chains simply tugged harder, increasing its pressure against my form. I then felt the familiar feeling of sinking into darkness below me. I watched as my lower  body became swallowed up by that darkness, as if I was sinking in quicksand. Now fully restrained, I was now being pulled into him.

I was going to die this time.

I was slowly disappearing into his consciousness, in dark empty realm, where no one could see me. I was going to simply disappear and become nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Such a fitting death for a man like me.

With no more energy to spare, I closed my eyes-

My mate's the strongest!

I snapped my eyes open, and the dark realm around me cracked like glass.

"You. . ." I gritted out, and the realm cracked even more. "All you do. . . is take. You take and take and take. . . and take. . ." The chains made a strange sound as they struggled to keep me restrained. "You take everything I know, every time. When will it be enough? When will it end. . . huh? How much more will you take? When will it all satisfy you? When will it finally be enough?"

"When will this end?"

My eyes widened, but then they narrowed.

In that moment every negative emotion, every angry thought, all came boiling up from deep within. A chain suddenly snapped, freeing my right hand. I used this arm to push myself upwards. The dark void shook and trembled under the brunt of my sudden anger. "No more. . ." I snarled. "Even if I die here. . . I'll let you feel all of it. All my despair, and agony, and hate. . . and anger. Everything thing that you have done in the past, I give it back to you a hundredfold."
