Marley's POV

"Whenever I resurface again, you better be ready to make some pups!" Octavia declared.

Deimos didn't even blink.

"Prepare yourself, Lucien Deimos."

No reaction.

I chuckled at their antics.

At least, I tried to.

I kept my eyes on them, in order to forget about the person that stood not too far from where I was.

Elder Athena.

What Octavia told me still lingered on my mind, and I felt myself being more guarded next to her. I had to shake off that feeling. I couldn't start acting suspiciously around her. I didn't know what would happen if she realized that we were being wary around her.

So I chuckled, and tried to act naturally around her, and hope that she overlooked my façade.

Everyone else started saying their goodbyes, including Lilly, who grabbed her and started whining about her leaving so soon. Octavia looked up at me, and nodded her head. I sent her back a nod, then I waved. "Alright. . . here goes", she said, closing her eyes. She then turned to Deimos.

"Oh and Deimos?"

"Hmm?"

"Catch me."

The moment she said those words, her body went limp. Deimos immediately caught her, and pulled her close to his form. "Say that sooner", he scowled, before holding her bridal style. We watched her form carefully, waiting for her to awaken.

She finally opened her eyes, and slowly looked up at the man that was holding her. I expected her to blush and become very flustered in his arms, but after a few seconds of her simply staring into his eyes, I realized that wasn't the case. She slowly lifted her hand, and placed her fingers along his cheek.

Then she pinched said cheek.

"What was that for?" he asked, immediately putting her down. She frowned, adjusted her large black coat, and folded her arms. "I'll tell you later."

"Am I in trouble?" he suddenly asked, and she placed her hands on hips. "Yes, yes you are." He scowled, and muttered something about her being annoying.

What dd he do? I wondered.

"Anyways, we're already late, so let's get going. . . Okay?"

I was going to nonchalantly reply to her, until I felt the tension in the air. I looked around, and realized that everyone now wore a serious expression. Even Lilly, the most animated female in the group, was now a little less jovial than before.
