Sam's POV

The second the jet landed on the roof I sprinted out.
The mission took way longer than any of us wanted.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR SOMEONE TO WALK THROUGH A FREAKING DOOR?!
I think I heard the others behind me but I really wasn't paying attention.
For once I think I am running faster than cap.
I hit the elevator button to her floor.
I feel terrible.
I wish I was there to support her.
The elevator dinged, bringing me out of my train of thought.
I slowed down to more of a speed walking and stopped once I reached her door.
I took a deep breath before opening.
I slowly opened the door to see........ an empty bed?
She normally would be tired by now.
I fully walked into the room and looked around until I spotted her.
She was in the corner near her bookshelf with a blanket over her. Asleep.
I slowly walked up to her carefully.
I looked to see she is still in the same close as the video so I guess she didn't feel nor want to change.
I stopped right in front of her and just looked at her.
I tried my best to imagine how she would look without all the..........
I don't know what to say........... after math of the past.
Right now her face has a few scars some old and some new, as well as a few faded bruises.
I felt a large pang In my chest just thinking of what she went through.
I put the book she was reading on the shelf and carefully lifted her up bridal style.
I had to be more careful due to me having my suit on and watching out for her injuries.
I gently put her down and pulled her blanket of and took her hat off.
I bent down and pushed her hair out of her face when something caught my eye.
I moved her hair to the right side of her neck,
The second I did I quickly felt my jaw clenched.
Is this why she always has her hair down?
This was definitely done a while ago.
It seems as old as a few of the scars that her oh so horrible mother gave her.
Right under her ear is one word.
A word that I know is not true about her.
All it says is "worthless x"
But it wasn't written on.
No.
It was burned on.
It's clear that it is a burn mark rather than a scar.
I felt a tear slid down my face as I just stared at her.
I let out a long quiet sigh.
I need to talk to her at some point just to make sure she knows she is amazing in every way.
Not what she has been told.
I slowly stood and put her chair near her bed which by the way is heavy. Like heavy heavy.
I placed a kiss on her head and walked out the room.
Once I closed the door I let out a sigh.
"Is she ok?"
I hear out of no where.
I jump and let out a help cause I did not even see that ALL of them where literally standing right in front of me.
Now I have to explain to them too.
