[14] Eavesdropping Luna

The first time Mia asked Samuel about his mating life he was oddly stiff about it. She could understand why, as Sammie had already admitted to her that a part of his essence was indeed strongly attracted to her (and for some reason the idea now made her giddy rather than abhorred) but still, she wondered why he continuously rejected advances of other werewomen.

"So," she continued, bugging him by poking him with her finger. "Is your essence not attracted to any of them? I just have a hard time believing in your eighteen years of life you've not had at least one attraction."

The bright side of her curiosity is he had no idea that she knew his dilemma. Samuel was still unaware that Sammie told her of his essence's attraction to her, so she could have fun playing the dumb game. What she didn't know, however, was if he was similarly attracted to anyone else. And this is what she wanted to find out.

Samuel pulled her finger off and squeeze it painfully, fixing her with a glare. "Mind your own business."

Mia rolled her eyes at him. Figures he'd come up with this at some point. "I'm trying to help you out here. We'll be graduating in a couple of months, shouldn't you be preparing to find a Luna?"

"I don't need a luna to become alpha. I'll find one when I feel like it. Now leave me alone." He dropped her finger and shifted her further away from him, moving her across the couch back to the place she originally was before she inched her way to him with her prodding questions.

"You know reptile, even though I hate you I still want you to find love. Being lonely only makes you more bitter. You could use some sweetness in your life." Mia crawled back to him. "Just ask one of the girls you're attracted to on a date. Give it a chance. There has to be at least one chick you're willing to spend time with."

His eyes snapped to her, black and smoldering. A whirlpool of emotions she could not distinguish, but one she did note was restrained anger. "Keep talking about this and I'll do something you'll come to regret." He hissed.

The loaded warning made her spine straighten and pull away. She could deal with Samuel on all kinds of levels, but when he got super scary like that she knew it was time to keep distance. Perhaps this was a topic best kept closed.

The stem drooped dejectedly towards the ground. It was wilted, completely void of life and yet here Mia was returning to the same pile of dead flowers as though by her continual stare they would somehow resurrect to life. She came back to them, slightly disbelieving the first time she saw them. The only difference was they were darker brown from decay.
