I wrapped a veil around my head, closing the door behind me as I left my room to go downstairs.

I walked into the dining room to see Ya Abdul, Rumaisa and Aunty eating breakfast.

I greeted Aunty and Ya Abdul as I sat down on the chair facing Rumaisa.

She didn't even let my butt touch the chair before she started speaking.

"You're the talk of the town now..happy??" She said.

"Very much happy, can't wait until my face is published on the newspapers!" I said as I sent her a wide fake grin.

She opened her mouth to probably give me a snark reply back but Aunty beat her to it.

"Rumaisa, keep quiet" she said to her as she sent her a glare.

Rumaisa glared at me as she continued eating.

"Hameeda, don't worry yourself, I'll speak to Baba" Aunty Said to me in a hushed tone.

THANK GOD.

I let out a sigh of relief as I nodded at her.

Despite aunty speaking in a quiet tone the girl opposite to me happened to have huge rabbit ears.

"What happened?" Rumaisa asked as she looked between the both of us.

Aunty glared at her once again.

Ya Abdul shook his head in amusement before picking up a piece of sausage and shoving it into Rumaisa's mouth "more eating, less talking, we don't want Aunty strangling you" he whispered to her, loud enough for me to hear but not loud enough for Aunty to hear.

I chuckled and I turned to Aunty as she continued speaking "Also, I want you and Rumaisa to go to the supermarket close by to get me some things, I'll give you a list, you and Rumaisa should take the other car  because Baba sani and zulaiha ma zasu je kasuwa " (they will go to the market)

I have to go with Rumaisa?!

Hell no!

I groaned out loud but I decided not to object.

I chuckled when I realized she said she made a list, knowing it'll be on a paper "aunty I told you, just be texting it to me on WhatsApp you don't have to be writing it down."

She gave me a sheepish smile "ni dai ban jin daddi Sai na rubuta kan paper"
(I don't feel satisfied until I write it on paper)

"Mummy I don't want to go with Hameeda." Rumaisa suddenly blurted out.

Her mother looked at her in annoyance, opening her mouth to object but I bear her to it

"Actually I think it's better I go alone, I'll be able to concentrate and get all the things" I told her.

"Are you sure? company will be nice." Aunty asked.

Rumaisa's company?? I rather talk to a wall.

I nodded and Rumaisa's lips tilted up in a smirk Gara miki" (better for you)
