Chapter 61

I slowly opened my eyes to see me in a hospital room

A doctor was standing over me

She smiled at me and I frowned back

What am I doing here?

Something...

Something happened!

But what was it?

"Hello Ma'am, I hope you're feeling better now" she said to me

I nodded

"Well I have good news, congratulations, you're pregnant!"she said

Just as she said those words everything that happened somehow came crashing down

I turned to the lady

"Where's Aliya?!" I said as I quickly sat up

Her smile dropped from her face as it turned into a confused look

"Uhm, I'm not really sure who you're talking about.." she said as she tried to get me to lay back down

I moved from her grip as I began to sob "Please, please tell me where she is, tell me what Aliyu said isn't true"

She blinked "uhm, I'll be right back"

I watched as she walked out and she came back with Ya Abdul

He walked to me and I quickly engulfed him in a hug sobbing my eyes out

"Hameeda, listen to me calm down" he said as he slowly patted my head that was on his chest

"Nooo!, please tell me Aliyu is lying, he doesn't know what he's saying he's a stupid boy"

"Aliyu isn't lying Hameeda, he's telling you the truth, Aliya is dead, she was killed, all you can do is pray for her"

I screamed as I tried to push him away but he held me tighter

"Stop! Stop saying that, stop!, stop!" I said as I vigorously shook my head still trying to push him away

He sighed as he turned to the doctor who looked genuinely concerned

"You never told me what's wrong with her doctor" he asked

"It had to be shock but then she's also pregnant  an-,..." i didn't let her finish because I cut her off

"I don't want to be pregnant! just bring my Aliya back to me!" I screamed at the doctor

She flinched back

"Shhh, don't say that" Ya Abdul said as he held my head that was on his chest

I turned away so I couldn't see both Ya Abdul and the doctor

I faced the other side as I cried to myself

"I'm sorry about her behavior doctor" he said

"No, no problem, it's ok, I understand that she's in pain" she said

"Thank you doctor" he said

"You're welcome" she said before exiting the room

Immediately she exited the room Rabiah came in

I was the first to see her because I was looking at the door while ya Abdul was looking down at me as he slowly rubbed my back

She gave me a look of pity but I just continued crying

Ya Abdul turned to look at her before he continued looking at me

The three of us sat in silence

It was a very uncomfortable one but I didn't even care
