Genevieve's POV

A lot of vampires were in the room. I grew wary of the situation. Most of them I've never met. The only ones I knew were the Denali's. Carlisle has stood by my side ever since we found out I was pregnant. He was very protective of me and our babies.

"How many came?" Carlisle asks

"Eighteen. You have some good friends" Edward tells him

"And Alice and Jasper?" I asked

Bella looked at me and shook her head. I looked down knowing the answer to that. Two of my kids left without saying anything.

"We'll all be on Aro's list now. Centuries on the run. That's why you've brought me here. Some friend, Carlisle" A voice says

"Alistair, come meet everyone" Carlisle tells him

"I already told you, if it comes to a fight, I won't stand against the Volturi" Alistair tells him

"It won't become a fight" I told him reassuringly

"I'll be in the attic" Alistair says

I go to say something to him, only for him to zoom away before I could. I rolled my eyes and Esme and Daniel laughed at my expression.

"He's not a people person" Daniel tells me

"No kidding" I said

We all stood at the front of the house as everyone showed off their powers. Everyone had unique gifts. Edward held Bella's hand, as Zafrina showed them a forest. Edward looked around in awe.

"If she wasn't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real" Edward says

"I don't see anything" Bella tells him

"Edward, you didn't tell me your wife was a shield" Eleazar says walking over

"Shield?" I asked as Bella asks "A shield?"

"The ones I've met were so different" Edward says

"It's a defensive talent" Eleazar says

"It's why I couldn't read your mind, even before. It's why Aro couldn't" Edward tells Bella

"You have a very powerful gift. Both of you. Both of you are very powerful" Eleazar tells us

Kate then walks over and grabs Bella's hand. I saw a spark come out of her hand. Bella made no sense of hurt on her face.

"Oh, yeah, she's a shield, all right. Shoulda put her on her ass" Kate says

"Or her voltage is exaggerated" Garrett says looking at me and Carlisle

"Maybe it only works on the weak" Kate tells him

Kate raised her hand at him. She wiggled her fingers gesturing for him to grab her hand. I was smirking waiting for what was to happen. Garrett smirks in determination and steps forward.

"Garrett I wouldn't" Carlisle tells him

Garrett touches Kate's hand anyway. He begins groaning in pain and falls to the ground. He was basically kneeling in front of her. He looked up at her and smiled.
