ZYRONE’S POV:

Honestly, I do believe at Kitty as soon as I tasted my own cooking. It's a disaster! I feel diffident, especially to Vunny.

This should have been the time when I must show off myself, but I failed.
I never heard him complain, though. He says no bad things about it. Yet, he didn't finish it all up, too. And so, I order Chinese foods instead.

I then change myself to a more decent clothing.

Vunny and Kitty are at the living room, while I go to wash my hands in the kitchen. Suddenly, I was surprised when I see that Kitty is beside me.

"Aalis na 'ko, Zai. Ikaw na'ng bahala kay Yvan ha," she says softly. "I think my time here is enough. You two should now spend your time together. Without a third wheel," she continues then giggles.

I smile at her. "Thank you, Kitty. I owe this to you. Hope he'll open up soon," I say.

"I'm sure he will. Sooner or later," she answers. "Sobra mo siyang nasaktan noon eh. He needs a bit more time. Pero naniniwala ako na may feelings pa din siya sa'yo. Just prove to him na seryoso ka talaga sa kanya, okieee? she continues still with a soft voice. “Kasi, 'pag sinaktan mo pa siya ulit, makakalaban mo na din ako, Zai. We clear?" she adds in between softness and stern. It’s as if she's not threatening, when in fact, I feel she does.

"I will never make the same mistake again, Kitty," I assure. "I have learned my lessons. 'Di ko na siya sasaktan."
"Good," she smiles. "I trust you on this, Zai."

Bumalik na kami sa living room and Kitty bids goodbye. Vunny is rebelling, but Kitty makes him stay. I make an effort to let him stay, too, and fortunately, he does.

Mukhang nahihiya nd awkward pa rin si Vunny with me. We're sitting on one couch but it feels like a giant thick wall separates us. Then I know I gotta make the first move.

"Gusto mo ba'ng manood ng movie, Vunny?"

He looks at me and shrugs, "Depende. Ano ba'ng movie?"

"Ano ba gusto mo? Marvels? Horror? Disney? Thai? Just name it. I'll search it on NetFlix."

He twitches his lips cutely while he’s thinking. And finally, "The Hunger Games. Trilogy."

I gasp in excitement as I heard what he has chosen. So we both love these movies! I just knew right then that we're compatible. "Paborito mo din pala 'yan, Vunny? It's fun knowing someone who has the same interest in movies as me."

He hums in a straight face. "Nagagandahan ako sa kwento, actually. Hindi lang dahil sci- fi siya o dahil marami na din ang may gusto. Ang astig lang talaga nung plot. Gusto ko din mga main characters--"

"Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire and Peeta--" I cut him off.

"Mellark. May the odds be ever in your favor, " we say in unison, plus the Capitol of Panem accent. And then I see him smile. A small smile that is. But, it’s a start to something greater, I believe.

It suddenly finally feels like we've been friends for a long time now. We start to talk without awkwardness. We don't even realize that we spent half an hour talking about The Hunger Games, then another movie like The Chronicles of Narnia, and Divergent. Well at least now, we're bridging the gap.

For the remaining time during the afternoon, we have finished binge watching two of the trilogy in my room. We had our moments of course, but it did not push through a very intimate skinship.

I understand him. I'll give him more time to be comfortable around me.
