Every few steps, Night reminded herself to be cautious. The Erothians had well thought plans. It would cost her dearly to underestimate them. She had sent Stephanie back, using her powers using Sondor. She didn't know of Sondor at the and thought she had killed Stephanie. But it was all a plan to ensure she doesn't use her powers from then on. It was a plan to stop the Phenomenal getting together and killing their parents. Though it was a real shocker to learn they were alive.

She was young at the time, so she thought she killed Stephanie and stopped using her powers. How was she supposed to know that it was all a plot to stop her from using her powers?

"We should have gotten water." Jimin said.

After walking for hours, her throat was dry. Jimin sat down, examining his arm. A purple-white bullet had grazed his arm, but he never got hurt. There wasn't any mark left on his naked skin. He didn't have an armour. Was it because they were super powerful?

She sat down beside him and took his arm in between her hands. Trailing her fingers over the spot, the bullet should have grazed him. She frowned. There was no difference. Looking up, she saw Jimin examining her with soft eyes.

"Are you sure the bullet hit you?" She asked.

"It should have grazed my arm," he said.

"But nothing happened." Was he immune to bullets? "It looks like it didn't even touch you."

"It didn't."

"Vague?" Night asked, shocked. Her hand fumbled in her pocket. Her ring was there and not on her fingers.

"It's me." Vague responded.

"I'm not wearing my ring. How can I hear you?"

This was crazy. Vague was talking to her! Vague was the voice of the gem present in her heirloom. Vague couldn't talk to her when she removed her ring- or she didn't talk to her when she removed her ring. These questions could only be answered by Vague, who she knew wouldn't answer right now. Vague wouldn't tell her anything until Night died by the hands of her parents, and then would regret not telling her.

"I'll explain later," said Vague. Thought so.

"How did the bullet not hit Jimin?"

"That was Ray."

"Ray?"

"You thought we didn't have any powers?"

"You have powers?"

Vague didn't respond. Of course, Night should have expected this. The gems always did this. They would first, tell some important information which they should have told the Phenomenal in the first place. But if Vague could talk to her without her ring, there was no getting rid of the gem. This was some serious shit.

The gems had powers. She had thought Vague to be the voice which came free with her ring, and now worked as an advisor. The gems having powers was the last thing she would have thought. What were their powers? Why were they hiding them? How did the gems get powers? That was an important question. Her mind clouded with assumptions until Jimin interrupted her thoughts.

"Night?" he said. "What are you thinking?"

She shook her head. "Vague talked to me."

"But you aren't wearing your ring." Jimin questioned, glancing at her fingers.

He looks cute when he's confused.

"I'm not. I think the gems can talk to us without us wearing our heirlooms. They just don't."

"Why would they?" Jimin frowned.

"They like being dramatic, that's why." she said. It could be true. The gems were nothing if not dramatic. "Vague also said that because Ray interfered, the bullet did not hit you."

"Ray is talking to me." he said, his mouth agape. He removed his bracelet from his pocket.

"That's what happened with me!" Night said. "But the real question is what are their powers?"

Zia ducked out of sight. At least Psyche wouldn't nag her for how bad she ducks or how she didn't pay attention to her surroundings. The soldiers appeared out of nowhere. There were ten of them against Zia and Jungkook.

"How do we kill them?" Jungkook whispered.

Ten soldiers against the two of them. They could win if the soldiers didn't have their spear-guns. Both Jungkook's and Zia's powers were good for fights within five feet of each other. Unlike Hoseok and Yoongi, who could fight from a distance.

An idea came in her mind. If only they could march in battle without worrying about getting hurt.

"You can do that." Psyche said.

"PSYCHE?"

"It's me, your amazing adviser." Psyche responded.

"I'm not wearing my bracelet. How-"

"I'm aware, but there was no choice. You have to kill the soldiers and your plan is really good. So know this, don't worry about getting hurt, a bullet can't even touch you."

"Why?"

"Because I'm making sure you don't get hurt."

Again with the half-answers. Psyche wasn't going to give her a straight answer in this life. "How?"

"Leave that on me. Now kill those monsters. Best of luck."

Talking to Psyche was like talking to someone who constantly logged off and then expected you to reply as soon as they text you.

She sighed and turned towards Jungkook. He was looking at her with his eyebrows raised. Without wasting time she explained her plan. Jungkook's expression turned to impressment by the time she was done explaining.

"We don't have anything to protect ourselves." Jungkook said.

"Psyche said we don't have to worry about getting hurt. The gems are doing some shit which we don't have to worry about. All we gotta do is fight the monsters."

He nodded and rolled his shoulders getting ready."Ready?" His eyes sharp, piercing through the soldier's armour.

She nodded and stepped out of her hiding place. The soldiers saw her, but she ignored them. Concentrating on one soldier at a time. One with green armour lifted off the ground and flew towards her.

The other soldiers shot bullets, but those bounced off her. Psyche was defecting those bullets, by creating an invisible armour. Zia had never been more grateful for the voice of the gem. But Psyche wasn't that, it was something else.

The green armoured soldier was coming closer every second. As soon as it was close enough, Jungkook landed a strong blow in his stomach. He sent the soldier flying and down the cliff when Zia shifted her concentration to the other soldiers.

She smiled. Her plan was working just like she had thought. Slowly, Jungkook had punched all the ten soldiers off the mountain. He fisted the air in victory.

"Your plan worked!" he told her.
