"Hmm. I think you should ask the person in question about that. Right, Hiiro?"

I turned my gaze toward Hiiro, allowing him the chance to respond to the goblin female's request. However, his reaction was quite unexpected. His eyes bore into mine with a mix of surprise and accusation, as if I had betrayed him in the midst of a battlefield. I couldn't help but find his reaction rather comical, and I made a mental note to remember this particular moment. After all, I couldn't resist the opportunity to tease him a little, given our close companionship and the humor in the situation.

Heh-heh-heh.

<....>

What! Great Sage, do you have something to say? Huh?

<Answer: ..Not at all. You are imagining it.>

See! Exactly what I mean. Whatever.

As I relished the humor of the moment, I couldn't shake the feeling that the Great Sage had something to say. It was as if it was silently exasperated with my antics. However, when I inquired, the Great Sage simply denied it, stating that I was imagining things.

The girl's radiant smile in response to my suggestion was heartwarming.

However, I raised an eyebrow in amusement as the girl exclaimed, "..So, his name is Hiiro!" Apparently, she hadn't been aware of his name until now.

Huh!? This guy didn't even bother telling her his name? No wonder she referred to him as 'my companion'. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself, convinced that Hiiro had intentionally kept his identity a secret. Well, let's see how he handles this situation. Keh-keh keh.

<Notice: Your face looks incredibly evil right now!>

Ahem! I cleared my nonexistent throat, pretending that I had imagined Great Sage's comment. It seemed I was getting a bit carried away with my inner monologue and playful skits using my skills.

Meanwhile, the girl approached Hiiro, who had been basking in the sunlight, seemingly indifferent to the world around him. We were both seated on a tree stump, bringing us to the same eye level as the goblins. She walked around the stump to where Hiiro was sitting, then knelt in front of him, placing one knee on the ground. It was clear that she took her pledge of loyalty quite seriously.

I couldn't help but wonder what Hiiro had said or done to inspire such loyalty, although I was fairly certain that his intentions had been quite different when he initially engaged with her. It seemed Hiiro had also made his decision, most probably because he knew he couldn't avoid it. He slowly moved towards her at the edge of the stump.

"....Have you decided on what you're going to do from now on?"

The girl hesitated for a moment, her eyes searching for the right words. She finally spoke with determination, her voice unwavering, "I have, Sir Hiiro."

Hiiro, sitting there with his characteristic calm and composed demeanor, nodded slightly. It was apparent that the girl's unwavering resolve had resonated with him.

"Very well. I shall grant your request."

Her eyes brightened with gratitude. "Thank you very much, Sir Hiiro."

Their conversation held an air of unspoken understanding, the girl ready to embark on a new path guided by her newfound loyalty to Hiiro, and Hiiro, who had reluctantly accepted the responsibility of being a beacon of hope for this young soul.

The girl was undoubtedly happy with his response. It felt like I was witnessing a historical moment on television, only the main characters were replaced by a slime slightly bigger than a baseball and a female goblin with long hair. Quite the spectacle, I must say. Now, what name would he give her?
