I jump out of my skin,
pen clattering across my desk.
Our paper's are collected
and we're asked to wait.
Mei's parent's look worried,
her mother rubs her hands
over her daughter's back
and her father smiles encouragingly,
they don't suspect her.
Mother motions
for me to sit next to her
and when I do,
she holds my hand in hers
and strokes my palm softly,
"Don't worry,the truth is always revealedin the end."............
a small part of my mind
