My eyes soak in our house, our home,
as ann'e parks in the driveway.
To think,
I walked out one day a few months ago
without a care in the world except-

my heart lurches when I remember,
my last worry-
I tap ann'e's shoulder to get her to look at me
and I sign frantically,
"Ann'e, what's going to happen to your plan?"
She frowns at me, confused,
as she clicks her seat belt off.
"What plan?"
"To travel to Japan."
