"Is there anything else?"
Aunt Eevie smiles at me,
it's a patient smile and it tells me
that she knows.
She knows there's more.
And for a second
my breath
hitches.
My lungs flutter in my ribcage
in an effort to let the words out-
Yes! Yes! Yes!
There's so much more I need to say,
she's whispered so many things into my ears,
there've been so many times she's made me feel unsafe,
I don't know if she loves me or hates me.
I miss you, and Zaina and even Miho.
Please save me.
But I-
My words die, drown themselves in my throat.
I clamp my mouth shut
and Orsai's voice echoes in my head:
"You're such a snitch, you've said enough."
