I trail next to Mother as we head back to the car. She holds up her huge black umbrella and walks close.
I'm shell shocked, my fingers still haven't stopped shaking.

"What? No...but I think I'll be fine in a bit."
Mother gives me a concerned look and that's all I need to know that she'll probably cook lasagna for dinner tonight in an attempt to cheer me up.

I say, once we're in the car.

a.n. a tad bit late for mother's day but honestly who cares, tell your mum you love her whenever. you don't need a special day to make her happy.
(some of you might not have the happiest relationship with your mums, or even your parents. mother's / father's day might be terrible for you guys and i'm just so sorry if that's the case. you matter and you are important, and you're not a monster if you don't celebrate along with everybody else on those days *hugs you tightly*)
