Dragons and their halfbreeds
For Dragons , mates come in two ways:
The first one is thru Atem the Draconian goddess of Love, Marriage and Family affairs. When every Dragon baby is born the Goddess chooses a mate for them and aligns their destinies. This is also the most common in Dragon x Dragon pairings. When a dragon reaches 60 years he/she can find a mate through dreams and vision. They can also do the Mate Locator spell using ancient Draconic magic to find their mate.
The second way is through a magical promise. This is when a leader of a family ( father or Grandfather) promises away their unborn daughter/son as a gift or in exchange for something. After the verbal promise a sealing spell is used to make sure the promise can never be broken neither by a God or any living creature. This is what happened in the case of Vivian & Alrick whereby Vivian's father used Alricks abilities to wipe away his leader and obtain power in exchange he promised him his unborn granddaughter.
The mate bond is the same in both methods. Unless one is part human or any non magical creature e.g.
* Half Dragon + Half Angel(Celestial Being)
* Half Dragon + Half Human
* Half Dragon + Half Guardian (Nature Spirit)
Etc.
