Continuation of flashback(4 years ago):

Ahmed's POV:

"Hey karate girl!" I couldn't believe it, there she was in her lilac dress and with her floral hijab. She was laughing and smiling with her friends. She seemed shocked when she turned around to see me.

"Oh hey haha," she chuckled nervously. I could tell she felt awkward. Maybe, cause I drew some unnecessary attention to her. Her cream skin shimmered in the August heat. Her amber eyes locked with mine again.

"So... are you gonna tell me your name or what? Or do you like 'karate girl'?" I asked with more demand in my voice than intended.

"Uh yea haha my name's Sairah." She responded shyly. "And I think I'm going to pass up on the latter choice," she smiled shaking her head. For a moment she looked into my eyes and I could see the joy and innocence that cultivated in her hazel colored eyes.

"Well that's a shame. I kinda enjoyed having a nickname for you. But, pretty name for a pretty girl" I responded. I couldn't help but smirk when I saw her blush from my compliment. She seemed so friendly and gentle with her baby brown eyes and her flushed cheeks.

"Oh um" She looked down at her hands again as if she feared too much eye contact. "Uh these are my friends, Nina, Renee, and Amina. And guys this is Ahmed. He's new and moved from New York." She began introducing her friends to me.

I saw the girl who was Nina whisper something in Sairah's ear and I saw Sairah blush and let out a gasp while lightly slapping Nina's arm.

Girls-- girls are interesting I guess.

Nina held out her hand to shake but I told her I don't shake hands with the opposite gender. For some odd reason she started smiling really wide.

"Really! That's so interesting! My girl Sairah here doesn't shake hands either." She playfully hip shoved Sairah who was fidgeting with her sleeves.

"Yea she told me about that," I said giving a slight smile. I'm not a smiley type of guy. Unless it's out of sarcasm. It was nice to know there was someone like me. It was refreshing.

"So she's 'karate girl' now huh" Amina teased.

Sairah shook my her head laughing. "It was nothing but the look on Nathan's face after Ahmed held John was priceless." I noticed something about her laugh. It was almost- contagious.

I started laughing, "ah it was nothing. All I wanted to see was you hit Nathan in the balls. Apparently he was shaken up after that." I shrugged and pointed towards Sairah. "You need to tell me were you learned to kick a** like that."

"When you're around idiots you learn a thing or two," she said coyly. God her eyes were glowing in the sunlight. I laughed at her comment. Damn she clearly has dealt with stuff like this. I guess that comes with the hijab.

"Soooo where's your next class?" I noticed that Sairah's friends backed away and that they were walking towards the library now.

"Uh I have psychology and-"I started to talk but she cut me off.

"Who do you have?" She seemed interested for some reason.

"Uh someone named Mr. Criscoe. It's an unusual name not gonna lie but then again so are all my teachers." I noticed how all of my teacher's names were unique.

"HAHA! Yet, they still have the audacity to say our names are weird..." Sairah rolled her eyes.

I don't know why but I couldn't help but stare at her. I mean she had some sort of angelic aura and had the most compelling personality. And I've only known her for half a day. What the actual HELL is wrong with me right now. I tried to shake away my thoughts.
