"Good evening class, my name is Professor Wright."

Her voice deep but smooth drew you into her like she was just a charming young professor. But it was her smile that pulled at the corners of her lips like she had a devious plan that caused a shiver to shoot down your spine.

"I am new to this school, so I don't know any of you. I would really like to know all of you because just looking at you all, I know we're going to have a great class." Her last words couldn't help but sound sarcastic when she looked our to our section and her smirk grew more sinister.

Why the fuck did I have to sit next to the only supernaturals in the whole class that were clearly going to be the target of her entertainment?

"So, I'd like to go around the room and have everyone introduce themselves so we can get to know each other a little better. It is going to be a long semester." She said with a sly smile causing Kyle and Dillan to growl next to me. It is honestly remarkable how bad supernaturals are at hiding themselves and yet no one notices the two growling men except the vampire that was chuckling at their anger.

Everyone went around the room introducing themselves trying to sound the most interesting to get her attention. If only they knew that they're just her dinner. She pretended to care, but I knew she just wanted to hear from the supernaturals. Sabrina was the first to speak from the group.

"My name is Sabrina Green, and I just can't wait to take this class. I love history." Her words were laced with aggressive sarcasm, but it only made Professor Wright more excited.

"Oh really?" the Professor raised a mocking eyebrow, "What is your favorite event to study? Mine is the Salem witch trials." I couldn't stop my jaw from dropping. Did she really just say that?

Professor Wright's eyes glanced at me for a split second but, returned to Sabrina as her eyes began to turn purple. She was furious and was about to cast a spell at the professor before the vampire spoke. "ah ah ah..." She tsked. "I wouldn't do that..." she smirked. She was right though Sabrina couldn't do anything. There were far too many humans in the class.

"Next!" the professor yelled looking at Dillan. It took him a second to get his thoughts together and Professor Wright was just leaning on her desk tapping her fingers impatiently.

"M-my name is Dillan Johnson," he choked at first, probably still in shock at what just happened, "and I'm looking forward to learning about war." he said giving her a death glare. I mean we were in military history, but it sounded more like a threat. I thought to myself, good I'm sure threatening the very old vampire is going to end well for us. I had to make new friends.

Professor Wright just threw her head back and laughed. Then she looked at Kyle, raised an eyebrow and questioned "and I'm sure that's how you feel too."

Kyle clenched his jaw, and I knew he was fighting to keep his wolf in.

"Yes." is all he said.

She inquired amused, "What is your name?"

"Kyle. Newman." Short and to the point. Kyle was probably taking the path of least resistance seeing as it seems that the Professor was thriving off the threats.

She then locked eyes with me, and I froze. I was trying desperately to read her, but I just ended up lost in her eyes with nothing gained. She leaned in and smiled in an almost warm way, "And who might you be?"

Don't be memorable, is all I could tell myself. "I'm Nat Xavier." I smiled innocently.

Her eyes still locked on mine. "That's a beautiful name, Nat." I couldn't help but blush a little. Why am I blushing? She's clearly a sadistic monster.

"Tell me something interesting about yourself," She sounded genuinely curious, which shocked me. My mind went blank.

"I-I don't know, I'm not very interesting," I said, not finding anything to say that wasn't like I'm a hybrid.

She laughed, "I find that hard to believe." She had a small smirk, "Well it looks like I'll just have to put more effort to get to know you better."

I fucked up. I had one job and that was to be ignored. Blend into the sea of people. Something I was an expert at and now the most powerful and dangerous supernatural intended to get to know me. I was just praying she was joking or only saying that to be nice, but my gut told me to run.

Next was Liz and she blurted out, "My name is Elizbeth Ruth, but everyone calls me Liz and I think you're hot!"

Every supernatural in the room, including me, snapped their heads at Liz in shock. Liz had no idea who she was flirting with, and we all feared for her. I turned my attention back to Professor Wright wondering how she was going to react. She had her eyebrows furrowed in confusion but instead of looking at Liz, she was looking directly at me. I panicked for a moment realizing that was actually totally normal for Liz, a human, to say to a vampire. They caused lust in humans and if I wanted to blend in, I had to look human. But how could I lust after a monster?

The professor broke her gaze with me quickly and changed expressions to one of amusement. It seemed she enjoyed having that effect on people. She laughed and said "I like you. You get straight to the point."

The rest of the class finished their introductions and Professor Wright was going over the syllabus, but my mind was elsewhere. I was trying to think of every escape plan I could. I was already struggling to control my emotions around her, and I was not blending in as well as I should have. Maybe I could change my schedule? I have to take a history class but maybe there are spots open in other classes. I felt a little relief at that. Tomorrow I would look into changing my schedule.

I was drawn out of my thoughts when she dismissed the class. I was packing my things up when Dillan spoke up.

"Hey Liz, do you need a ride or need someone to walk you home?" I knew what was happening. The supernaturals were trying to protect Liz who just flew herself into the arms of a killer.

"I'm perfectly capable of walking myself home thank you very much." She huffed. This is not the time to be a strong independent woman Liz! I thought as I rolled my eyes.

"I could go with you, Liz," I said without thinking. What the hell was I going to do? It would be even more tempting for the two of us to be walking together. We might as well wear a sign that says, 'free food!' But I couldn't help but feel protective. It was my wolf side. Brave but stupid.

"No! Nat you're coming with me!" Kyle quickly blurted out. I just looked at him and nodded knowing that he was right.

"Will you guys stop. I am going to walk her home. Okay?" Sabrina said not really asking a question more like stating a fact and we all nodded.

"Fine whatever!" Liz said and we all sighed in relief knowing at least a supernatural was walking her home. That's when we heard a dark chuckle, and we all froze. We looked around. Dillan, Kyle, Liz, Sabrina, and I were the only ones left in the room. Except of course for the amused looking Professor leaning nonchalantly on her desk staring at the five of us like we were her trapped prey. I audibly gulped in fear and Liz just looked confused.

"It's like watching the circus," she laughed. "This is going to be far more fun than I thought." The sinister smirk plastered on her face.

"You got that all worked out now?" She raised an eyebrow and mocked.

She knew what we were trying to do. Protect the prey. Except right now I think we were all prey in her eyes. In reality, I don't think any of us could do anything if she wanted to kill us right now. Well except for me. Maybe... I still would have to manage to bite her, and something tells me that's not going to be easy.

Kyle just grabbed my arm and Dillan followed close behind me as Sabrina shadowed Liz and we all walked out the door. I could have sworn I heard her growl at Kyle as he held my arm, but she let us leave. I finally let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding once we were out of her sight. What was I going to do?
