The footsteps suddenly picked up pace and suddenly started to head closer to her. Her eyes widened, breaths ragged and harsh, and her mouth dropped open into a silent scream.

"Summer?" His voice called softly.

"Loki?" She exasperated, tears of relief filling her eyes.

She heard his footstep run faster towards her and finally he was before her. "Love, are you okay? There was blood-" he cut himself off at her appearance- sweaty, bloodied, and quite obviously in severe pain. Then it clicked. "Is he coming?"

She nodded and rolled her head back as another contraction hit. He rushed to her side and gave her his hand to grip. He talked her through it, encouraging her and did the proper breathing with her until the contraction ended.

There was a crash in the distance making his eyes widen in panic, but he did his best to remain calm for her. His brain desperately searched through ideas of where she could have this baby safely and not worry about being too loud. The fact she had to swallow her screams broke his heart, and he knew she could only do it for so long. Then, he had an idea.

"Summer, do you trust me?" He looked at her pleadingly.

The look in his eyes concerned her, but she didn't have too many other options at this point, so she nodded. He spotted the glass in her foot and decided it was best to carry her. He gathered her in his arms and picked up a first aid kit along the way.

"Where are we going?" She groaned as she fought to stay awake.

He hushed her gently as he crept through the halls as swiftly and as quietly as he could. "Somewhere where you can have this baby safely."

He knew where he had to go was at the bottom level of the building and taking the stairs would take too long, but the elevator was risky. Still, he chose the later. He hit the basement level button once they were in the elevator, making her eyes widen.

"The cells?" She croaked, suddenly a little scared.

"Yes, that's why I asked you to trust me," he explained and stepped off the elevator and into an empty cell. "These are sound proof and no one will get in without a code. The only ones with access to the codes are the Avengers."

"But once we close it, we can't get out." She exasperated as he set her down on the beat up mattress.

"The team knows we're not with them, they'll coming looking." He ensured and squeezed her hand in comfort. "One of the first things they check after a in breach is making sure no one escaped.... so do you trust me?"

She panted and tried to real in any more thoughts or ideas she could have that may be better than this, but being in this much pain made it nearly impossible. She had no choice. She had to trust him.

At her timid nod, he locked them both in, trapping her in with him.

"Sam, on your left!" Bucky shouted out in warning as he ripped his knife out of a creature.

Sam spun around and shot the creature down before it got too close. He turned and face his frienemy again. "Steve really told you about that?"

He blinked. "Told me about what?"

"Nevermind." He brushed it off. If he explained the story, Bucky would just embarrass him about it all the time. "Anyone have eyes on Loki and Summer?" He called into the comms.

"Negative." Was Clint's response through the earpiece. "Thor?"

There was a grunt before he answered. "No, not here either. Can you hold them off while I search?"

"No, no, no- Loki, I can't do this!" She cried as the cell door locked shut.

"I told you, we're safe in here-"

"No! I mean this!" She sobbed and gestured to her giant belly.

He looked surprised a moment before he quickly knelt at her side. He carefully took her hand in his, his thumb running across her knuckles in comfort. "I have personally put you through hell and back, yet you still fight to be better everyday. You are so strong mentally, emotionally, and physically. Your body was made for this, to carry and deliver our son. You got this." He firmly reassured her and planted a gentle kiss to the back of her hand.

She groaned and threw her head back as another contraction hit. "But I wanted epidural." She cried pathetically through clenched teeth. "Wait, what about Siv!?"

He tensed, his stomach flipping at the thought. "We.... have to trust that the school will take care of her. They're after me. They know I'm here. They won't leave the tower." He said, even though he wasn't completely sure. He had to say whatever he could at the moment to keep her calm.

He released her hand to get the first aid kit out and place it next to him. "I need you to tell me when the next contraction- oh that must be it." He cut himself off when she groaned loudly in pain again.

While she was in that pain, he used that distraction to remove the shard of glass from her foot. Thankfully it mainly stayed in one piece, but a few pieces he had to pick out. Once he was sure he had it all, he bandaged her foot as tightly as he could to prevent it from bleeding anymore.

"Loki?" She panted, her eyes wide and panicky. "I think I need to push."

"Okay, that's good. You need to listen to your body, okay?" He breathed and helped her pull her pants down with her permission. "When you feel another contraction, push. Ready?"

Another cliff hanger I'm SORRY! This is mad short too. The next one will be longer tho! Promise!
