Also, we're at a certain point in this book if you don't read carefully, you will be very confused lol! Just a heads up because I've had people ask questions because they didn't read carefully enough!

Summer did everything in her power and played every trick in the book to avoid going to bed alone with Loki that night. All the excuses, tricks, lies, you name it. He saw through it all and played her little game for now.

Her excuse now was she wanted some fresh air and she was surprised when Loki allowed her to go. On the way, she stopped by the kid's rooms and checked in on them, making sure they were still.... there.

After that, she took a pit stop at the kitchen to grab a glass of water along the way. She couldn't trust any of the other drinks in the house. She took it out to the balcony and debated running. But run to where? The earth's mightiest heroes were dead. No one else was powerful enough to help. Plus, how far away could she get with the kids until he noticed? Then what would happen to them if he found them?

Her heart sunk at the sound of heavy boots trailing up behind her. "What do you need, Loki?"

"Loki?"

She whipped around and gasped. She dropped the glass she was holding, and it shattered into millions of tiny pieces on the floor. "No.... no, you're dead." She began to hyperventilate. "You can't be here. You.... no, no, no!" She cried and fisted her hair in her hands.

"Summer, relax! Don't do that to yourself! What do you mean I'm dead?" Thor exasperated and hurriedly drew near to her side.

He looked completely unscathed, not a single scratch, drop of blood, or bruise on him. More importantly, there was no knife imbedded into his head.

She backed away, but he caught up with her. "I saw you! W-with a knife in your head, you- no, don't touch me!" She cried and flinched away from his touch. "You can't! He'll kill them! He'll-"

"Okay, Summer! Try to take deep breaths, I'm not here to hurt you." He ensured with his hands raised in front of him to show he meant no harm.

She adamantly shook her head, "no, you need to leave." She demanded harshly, though she was trembling in fear.

"Yes, I'll leave, with you!" He exclaimed and grabbed her arm.

She screamed and smacked his hand around her bicep, but he didn't care. He kept dragging her along. "Let me go! Loki, he'll- listen to me! Thor, he'll kill them!" She sobbed and thrashed in his hold.

He stopped walking to grab her by the shoulders. "Listen to me. They're safe. We already have them." He told her, firmly.

She shook her head and pleaded some more. "No, no you're supposed to be dead. You're dead! Let me go!" She yelled some more and clawed at his hands, but no avail. He held her so tightly, she bruised. There was no escaping.

She fought with all her might as he continued to drag her to Odin knows where. She screamed, she cried, and she pleaded.

Then, he stopped moving completely. She looked up through her tears and screamed in terror.

He had a knife between his eyes, and was bloodied and bruised all over, just like he did the night she found him dead. "Summer, what's wrong?" He asked and blood dribbled from his mouth and splattered on her face as he talked.

She ripped herself from his grasp and his lifeless body collapsed to the ground with a resounding 'thud.'

She scrambled back like a frightened animal and fell to her bottom. Once she hit the ground, her limbs froze, too shocked to move.

She felt his chilling presence before she saw him. Sheer power radiated off him, sending knifes of fear into her gut. She realized then and there Loki was a lot more powerful than he let on previously. Not only could he manipulate how he himself appeared, but what others saw around him.

He just made her hallucinate. Thor wasn't real.

"I appreciate you thinking I was able to kill all of the Avengers, truly. But, if you remember, I've tried before and wasn't successful. You should know I'm not one to repeat my mistakes. It was much easier to make you believe I killed them all. More believable for the kids too, you know?" Loki muttered as he sauntered into the room. "I did the same for the team as well. They believe we're dead, so we don't have to worry about them finding us anytime soon.... or ever."

Her breath caught in her throat as she started to hyperventilate. The Avengers were still alive. Or at least that's what he wanted her to believe. "Why.... why would you tell me that? Why not just have me believe they're dead?" She rasped out.

"Seeing can be deceiving, darling. I think it's crucial that you remember that." He grinned and lolled his head to one side as he drew near. "And it's very endearing watching you try to put the pieces together. You're incredibly intelligent and catch on rather quickly. I think you're also smart enough to know you'll never figure it all out." He explained and crouched down to her level.

She flinched as he gently caressed her face. "I can only pray you'll be smart enough to know that the sooner you accept that this is our life now, the better our lives will be." He finished and stood straight again.

She watched as he left, leaving her trembling on the cold marble floors. Thor's head turned and looked to her with an eerie grin before his "body" vanished into thin air.

As she sobbed, she tried to make herself remember it wasn't real. Thor and all her friends were out there still, alive, well, and safe.

But now that she knew he could make her hallucinate, she questioned what was real and what was fake.... did that mean her kids weren't actually here? Were they just a figment of her imagination? Was Loki making her see things?

And most importantly.... were they even still alive?
