"Just one more. Smile!" Jungkook encouraged.
"You've taken a hundred pictures."
"Come on! One more! Please? Please Yoongi?" He pleased with a pout.
He finally gave in and forced a smile as he held up the sign that said, "Twenty six." He wasn't to fond of birthdays or pictures.
"Smile like you mean it. You look like a maniac."
"That's the only smile I have." He declared with a frown.
"Say cheese!"
Yoongi mumbled the word and before he knew it, a flash nearly blinded him. Jungkook looked at his phone screen satisfied.
"Perfect. I'm going to send it to your mom."
"Don't you fucking dare."
"Why not?"
"I haven't spoken to her in years. She doesn't care." He admitted.
"Really? Then why did she send me this?" He asked showing him a text on his phone.
"Tell Yoongi I said happy birthday and that I wish him the best. We're very proud of him."
Yoongi bit the inside of his cheek. He gave him the phone back as he cleared his throat. "Why couldn't she tell me that?"
"Maybe because the last time you spoke to her things weren't good. You should call her."
"And say what?"
"That you got a record deal! They're going to be even more prouder of you!" He squealed clapping his hands.
Yoongi sighed sadly. "About that," he whispered semi upset. Jungkook's smiled faded as he stepped closer to his best friend.
"What happened?"
Yoongi put down the bright poster on the table as he looked up with guilt. "There was never a record deal. I never got it."
"What?" He asked both confused and concerned.
"When I went to the company, the guy didn't like me. He kicked me out. Hell, he didn't even listen past the first three seconds of my songs. I was just too embarrassed to tell you. I'm sorry I lied. It's just hard to fail again and again at something you're so passionate about."
Jungkook put an arm around him. "I'm upset at the fact that you didn't tell me this before. I could've been there for you to comfort you. Either way you cannot give up. I've heard you and read your lyrics. You're a genius! It'll be a waste of talent if the world doesn't hear you."
"But the guy—"
"Fuck him. There's someone out there that will see your talent soon. You just have to keep trying. I'm going to be there every step of the way. No matter the outcome."
Yoongi smiled relieved, "Thank you. I really needed to hear that."
"No problem. If you want me I can beet that guys ass."
"Gee, what's up with you and ass kicking? It'll be okay. Like you said I just have to look for another person."
"Well, I like ass so maybe that's why." He shrugged.
"Gross. Talking about ass, look what I'm going to give to Jimin." He said taking out a yellow piece of paper.
"Are you sure you want him to read that and have a copy?" He questioned worriedly.
"Yes. I do. I'm running out of ideas. Talking to that man is like talking to a brick wall. It gives me headaches! I just wish he'd open his mind a little and give me one chance."
