Crash!

Yujin followed Sangwook into an unfamiliar apartment, still feeling confused at the man's strange behavior. Who was the old friend he talked about? What favor did his friend ask for?

Upon entering the flat, he immediately started looking through the shelves and drawers, knocking everything down in the process as the books and boxes that once filled the walls fell on the ground with a thud.

His facial expression grew more and more irritated, anger flashed through his eyes as he went through drawers after drawers. Where was the evidence that he needed? Where was he hiding them at?

"What are you looking for? Maybe I can help," Yujin inquired, wanting to do more than just stand there and stare at him. However, Sangwook simply continued doing what he does best, ignoring the girl.

Yujin couldn't help but let out a frustrated huff. It was safe to say that she was beyond tired of being ignored and not being taken seriously all the time, but the girl decided on simply staying quiet and not starting an argument.

At this point, the entire apartment was a complete mess and utterly trashed. Books, papers, photo frames, and furniture were scattered all over the floor, while all the cabinets and drawers were either searched or flipped over.

Sangwook scanned his eyes over the messy room and examined his surroundings quietly, his nose flaring in annoyance and anger written all over his face. He silently let out a curse of frustration before leaving for the front door and kicking it open to leave. Yujin followed suit and dashed out of the room, still not having a single clue as to what was happening.

Right after they left and walked past the apartment next door, Sangwook immediately halted his movement as if he sensed something not quite right. He craned his neck to stare at the flat suspiciously. There was something fishy about this unit, he just knew it.

With slight hesitance, he walked closer to the door, reached for the doorknob, and inserted the key into the lock. Clink- The metal door opened with a click, and he slowly pushed it open.

The duo entered the room, their bodies brushing against the plastic curtains as they walked through the entrance. Dim red lights illuminated the room, and the entire space was covered in a red hue.

"What the hell?" Yujin mumbled in a hushed tone, only loud enough for herself to hear. Anxiety bubbled inside her, the setting of the room gave her an unsafe and unsettling vibe that she couldn't help but hold her breath in fear.

The further they went inside the room, they soon realized what this suspicious room was. It was a dark room, a room for photographers to develop photos. They could see all these pictures hanging in the air, attached to strings.

But nothing could have prepared the two for what they were about to see on the photos.

Yujin let out a gasp and her hand immediately flew to her mouth. She couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't believe the pictures she were seeing right now.

The suspicious man she met on the ground floor, the guy who was heavily beaten up, was in the photos. Next to him were little girls, kindergarten students smiling happily while drawing or playing with legos.

Beside these seemingly heartwarming photos, were pictures of those little girls, unconscious and beat up. They all had bruises over their faces while injuries covered their tiny bodies.

A huge lump formed in the back of Yujin's throat, her heart ached as her eyes scanned over the disgusting photos. The images made the hairs on her back stand up, her brain failing to find any reasonable explanation as to why someone would do this.

"He's a fucking monster," Yujin exhaled in a ragged breath, finding it unbearable to look at the pictures anymore before she dropped her gaze to look at the floor. The mere thought of the man doing such terrifying things to little kids made her stomach churn, and it took everything she had not to hurl right then and there.

Yujin hesitantly glanced up at the man in front of her, noticing how Sangwook's breathing had quickened, and both his hands were balled up into fists clenched so tight his fingers could have been broken. His body shook in anger as he mumbled out, "I'm gonna kill him."

His mind was clouded with anger, pure and utter anger. Rage flowed through his veins like lava while fury roared through his mind, he could feel so much resentment in the pit of his stomach. The last time he remembered feeling this way was years ago when he was still a kid, when he sat in the courtroom and listened to the trial of his father's killer.

That monster ruined the life of the little girl, ruined the life of her father, ruined the lives of so many families. He will never get to see his daughter ever again, and those parents will never get to hold their little girls again, all because of this monster.

Without a second thought, Sangwook turned around, his shoulder bumping into Yujin's as he strode through the door without a word.

Sangwook was going to get revenge, no matter what it takes.
