Chapter 7 – You’ve got mail and Ice suits him well

Giselle was hastily throwing any clothes she had lying around the nurse’s office into a small box, since she was now able to return to her room. Though Jasmine was giving her the cold shoulder, she still stopped by to drop off several of Giselle's belongings. Of coarse it was all thanks to Professor Cornelius, because if it was up to Jasmine, she would have let Giselle rot in the same clothes she wore the day of the battle.

Professor Cornelius said she was free to go back to her room after he dropped her off at the nurse’s wing. After all, Giselle was feeling as good as new and as long as she showed up to class the following day then she had nothing to worry about.

Giselle glanced at her wrist watch to realize it was close to lunch break.

Great.  She thought. If I hurry I can grab something to eat, I'm starving.

She lifted her small box, not to much bigger than a shoe box, with an outfit and a pajama and headed out. A warm excitement came across her as she continued to head to the student sleeping center until she thought of what Professor Cornelius had told her earlier. Her life was not what she had thought it was.

In fact, her life was the opposite. She was far from average. Her parents were unknown and no matter how much she wanted to know, it still remained a fuzzy blur before her eye lids.

And the mother, the mother she always thought was hers... Actually wasn't. Her actual mother died bringing her into this world and how could someone as brave as her father give up on his daughter?

Giselle was walking down campus with her brain stirring of everything she had found out, everything that she had learned in a matter of time. She came to an abrupt stop when she saw Jonah walking towards her; he looked surprised to see her outside of the nurse’s office and in his hands were flowers, tulips. Instantly Giselle felt her throat feel scratchy.

He grinned. "I was actually heading to go see you, I heard about what happened."

She nodded. "Yeah, barely even knew the guy, talk about an ice breaker."

Jonah laughed. "Yeah, Battle must've been tough, can't believe he went so hard on you."

"I didn't expect him to go easy on me." She said. "Plus you live and you learn, right?"

He nodded to agree. "Right, well these are for you." He said. "Uh, a get well soon gift."

Giselle took a step back. "Sorry but um, I'm allergic."

Jonah glanced at the flowers, face blank. He shrugged and suddenly the flowers disappeared out of his hands into thin air. Giselle stared at his hands, not surprised, but just wondering where things had gone when that happened.

"So where you off too?" He asked.

"Just going to drop this off and maybe get some lunch afterwards." She said.

Jonah scratched the back of his neck a little hesitant. "Well Nathan, kind of, has a lunch date." He muttered. "So I'm kind of, alone, just wandering."

"Oh." She replied oblivious to what he was offering.

"We could-" He paused.

Giselle stared at him as if to say huh.

"Have lunch." He said. "Together, or apart I mean, just at the same table or um, across the room if that’s -"

She shrugged interrupting his ramble. "Cool, let me just drop this off, might as well make some friends at this crappy place since I'm going to be here for a while."
