Chapter  32 – Love Triangles and The Vision

Isaac had woken up the following morning yawning and content. He left his window open that night because the cold always helped him fall into a deep sleep and so that he was comfortable enough to not have nightmares about his mother.

He wasn’t sure why but he enjoyed dark colors, colors that were intense to him. He threw on a navy blue button up and a pair of dark jeans with his usual black boots. Suddenly a knock caused him to stand up, he wasn’t expecting any one and this definitely was catching him off guard.

Through the peep hole he saw it was Clea. It surprised him because she never showed up unannounced. She stared at the peep hole back at him with a smug face and her dark hair up into a pony tail. He let out a sigh before opening the door to see what she wanted.

“Good morning, Clea.”

“Morning, Can we talk?”

Isaac moved to the side allowing the door to open so she could walk in. She made her way to his bed and took a seat before staring at her hands; it seemed to him that she was looking for the right words to say. She also looked nervous.

Clea then stood up abruptly. “I-I… You… W-why her?”

Isaac stared finding no humor in her stuttering nor the fact that she was delaying him from seeing the professor about what was supposed to be an important conference. Plus it was early morning and he didn’t have time to argue with Clea about her insecurities. “It would be nice if you explained why you are here, Clea. At seven in the morning.”

“Because I wanted to talk to you about your choice.”

“What choice?”

“That night at the party we danced, talked and then at the end of the night you left with Giselle which only could mean one thing. In girl world that means you chose her over me, that means… that means –”

“I could care less about this girl world you speak of and what you think it means.”

“But I thought… I thought you liked me back.” She looked away suddenly and stared at the floor biting her lip waiting for a response almost like she was fighting back tears.

“Clea, there is nothing between us except a friendship and I’m sorry if you thought otherwise.”

“That isn’t fair.” She whispered. “What do you see in her?”

“I never said –”

“Don’t deny it, I can see it. I can see that you like her.”

“I don’t have to explain myself to you, Clea.”
