"What do you mean 'read'?" Amity's eyes widened and her eyebrows furrowed as she snatched her phone back out of Maia's hands.

Maia bit the inside of her cheek as she watched Amity's expression shift the moment she realizes Luz had read her message.

"Oh." She looked up at Maia. "She's typing.."

"Go on then, keep your eyes on the phone! I have to know as soon as possible!" She urged Amity to look back down at her phone.

hey, whos this??

Amity's jaw basically dropped as she flipped her phone over to show Maia. "Ain't no fucking way, dude. What does she mean 'who's this?' How does she not know?"

Maia narrowed her eyes for a second. "Oh, your number probably got wiped from her phone, therefore she doesnt have you saved and she doesn't know who you are."

"Really?" Amity raised an eyebrow, looking at her phone. "Then that must mean-"

"-Valentina deleted your nunber off of her phone." Maia finished Amity's sentence, nodding. "I doubt that Luz would've done so
herself."

Amity's grasp on her phone tightened as Maia watched her entire face turn red from anger. "Ugh, what the fuck?! This is so unfair!" She spread her arms out, still holding her phone.

"Yeah, I know.." Maia sighed. "Val's seriously got a screw loose."

Luz watched as the typing bubble from the unknown number popped up again.

it's me, amity
how come you dont know??

She raised an eyebrow. 'Amity? I have her number already. Anyways, why would she be texting me after not saying anything for so long?'

Luz groaned. 'Stupid prank texters, dude.'

She recieved a picture of Amity with Maia next to her, Luz narrowed her eyes. 'Then how come it's an unknown number?' She quickly scrolled through her contacts, realising that she indeed did not have Amity.

Luz turned her phone off and put it in her pocket, getting up from her bed and walking over to where her shoes were, quickly slipping them on and grabbing her dorm keys, unlocking the dorm and leaving.

She knocked on Valentina's dorm twice, hearing her footsteps from the other side of the door, followed by the sound of her key unlocking the door.

"Luz!" Her eyes widened, then she smiled. Her hair was oddly dishevelled and her cheeks were pinker than usual, making Luz curious.

"Can I come in?" She tried to peek around her dorm to see if anything was looking out of place or weird.

Valentina looked behind her nervously. "Oh, yeah.. of course! Just give me a second." She chuckled sheepishly. "Gotta clean up! Y'know.." She closed the door in Luz's face.

'That's definitely odd.' Luz made a mental note to try pry deeper into why Valentina's acting so weird.

A few moments later, the door opened, revealing Valentina again, but this time her hair was tidy and she wore a sweater that went up covering her neck unlike the loose top she had on before. "Come on in." She moved out of the doorway.

Luz walked in and went to sit down on Valentina's couch, Valentina sat down next to her, looking weirdly uptight.

"So," she began, putting her hands on her lap. "What did you need?"

She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. "You deleted Amity's number from my phone, didn't you?"

Valentina's eyes widened, and then she sighed. "Look, I had to! She kept getting in the way. Everytime we tried to do something you were always texting Amity, I was getting tired of it!" She exclaimed.

Luz frowned. "That doesn't mean you delete her off of my phone. Why didn't you speak to me about it?"

"Because you wouldn't solve it properly. However, what I did solved it. And it solved it once and for all." She crossed her arms.

"Except you're wrong." Luz furrowed her eyebrows. "Thankfully she texted me this morning to see why I hadn't been texting in so long, but it turned out I didn't even have her number anymore, and I wonder how long I hadn't had it for?"

Valentina rolled her eyes. "Literally not even that long. Besides, I don't approve of you talking to Amity!" She hissed. "I feel as if she'll take me away from you.. I told you so many time that I want you to stop talking to her."

"Oh? So if I told you that I don't want you talking to Cam anymore you'd stop talking to them?" Luz raised an eyebrow.

"I-" Valentina sighed. "Well, yeah.."

"Liar." Luz smirked and Valentina scoffed.

"Luz, you're acting so strange! What is actually up with you? You're never like this. Amity changed you.. I knew you were talking to her too much." She poked her finger into Luz's chest. "If you like her so much, why don't you go date her instead?"

Luz didn't want to anger Valentina anymore, so she stuck to her morals. "Don't say that. You know I don't wanna date her instead. You're the one acting strange, Val! What the hell was that, when I opened the door?"

Valentina paused, her eye's widening slightly. "It was nothing. I was just.. exercising, and I made a mess earlier so I had to go quickly clean it up, I told you this." She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Whatever you say." Luz shrugged. "I'm going back to my dorm, now." She stood up and walked to the door, putting her shoes back on.

Valentina immediately bounced after her, grabbing her hand before she left. "Luz.."

Luz turned around. "What?"

"I'm sorry.. I love you, okay?" Valentina batted her eyelashes and squeezed Luz's hand. "I only love you.."

"I love you too." Luz subtly sighed out, getting out of Valentina's grasp and making way back to her own dorm.

She got in and locked the door behind her, then took off her shoes and walking into her room, flopping backwards onto the bed.

'I don't know what to do.' She turned onto her side. 'I wish Amity were here, she'd know.'
