Lizzie
Christmas 2020

I'm not going to lie, I am like other girls.

All the "I don't like dresses and I don't wear make-up because I'm one of the boys," bullshit? Yeah, that is not me. In fact, I love wearing dresses to special events, along with make-up and, also, high heels.

That perfectly explains the reason I have black Louboutin on my feet with the soles matching the color of my long dress. The leather stiletto pump with curved openings and pointed-toe fits perfectly the vibe I'm going for. Elegant, but sexy.

Grace asked everyone to have dinner together on Christmas day, so tonight we're all gathering at a restaurant in Cranbrook, a city about an hour away from Fernie. Also the city Grace and Nate picked me up from on the first day.

Aaron isn't here right now. He's at his parents' house— well, his house. His mom called a couple of days ago to tell him she'd bought him a new suit for tonight's dinner. He left this afternoon to try it on.

I only wear expensive jewelry on special occasions. Tonight counts as one. Therefore, I don't hesitate to finish my look with Harry Winston's necklace and earrings. The diamonds and platinum shine in the light of my bedroom.

My hair falls in soft waves against my back, some strands pulled together on the back of my head by a hair clip that my parents got at an auction a few years ago. Its diamonds match the ones on the rest of my jewelry.

I look older, but in a good way. I grab my purse and check the time on my phone. I find a text from Aaron.

Aaron, 6.12: I'm leaving the house in a bit. You ready yet?

Me, 6.14: Yep. Just gotta touch up my make-up.

I set my phone back down as I grab my lash curler. My phone dings.

Aaron, 6.15: Wear waterproof mascara.

Oh, God. My cheeks turn the same shade of my dress.
I put away the mascara I was going to use and replace it with a waterproof one. I also avoid using red lipstick. Some clear lipgloss will do.

The doorbell rings and I hear Grace opening it. I walk down the stairs as well, finding Henry standing in the living room with his hands clasped in front of him.
Ah... Men in suits.

The front door opens and Aaron walks in with his usual polite smile. I check him out, head to toe, and widen my eyes.
Oh... My man in a suit.

He has a black suit, matching the elegant shoes and tie, opposite to the white shirt underneath. Everything is covered by a long black coat and a scarf of a dark gray color just placed on his nape.

The fabric wraps his body flawlessly, making him look like a freaking Greek God. His hair is neatly brushed back and his posture is confident but not rigid, softened by the slight curl of his mouth.

He has his hands in the pockets of his pants, but the position doesn't come off as arrogant. If anything, he seems kind of shy. Like he's not used to having this many eyes on him.

Which is absolute bullshit because he has everyone's eyes fixed on him whenever he leaves the house. Aaron is way beyond handsome. His beauty is otherworldly. And he is all mine. I can't hold back a smile when I remember that.

"Look at you," Grace exclaims. "I never saw you in a suit."

"I never saw you in a long dress," he replies. "You look great."
