Easter holidays were over.

Students started returning to Hogwarts, and you were finally allowed to attend as well.

After some thinking, McGonagall had decided it would be best for you to stay at the school. You would stay in the common rooms after classes, and Ginny would bring you food every dinner so Snape doesn't see you.

The students were pleased to hear you weren't on Snape's side, though you couldn't help but feel bad that he had to be misunderstood.

-----

Potions. Finally.

Due to your new school rules, you had to be extra cautious and couldn't go roaming the corridors like you once used to.

But now. Finally. You could go find Draco.

You sat down at your seat, waiting for your seat mate to finally arrive.

After some time, there he was.

The two of you locked eyes, and you could swear Draco gave an uncontrollable smile.

He sat down next to you as he took out his textbook.

"You're back.." He muttered.

"Indeed I am." You whispered back.

"You don't know how bad I want to hug you right now." He whispered, turning his textbook to a random page as the two of you avoided eye contact.

"Oh, trust me, I have an idea." You lightly giggled.

The two of you were glad to see each other, though disappointed since you couldn't show as much affection.

You had to keep your cover, and that was that. You had to act like you hated Snape and Malfoy, the two people who love you most.

"My dorm room after curfew? I'm sure you'll find a way to sneak in." He whispered after class as you packed your bag.

"Sure."

-----

Your favourite charm. The Disillusionment Charm.

You've been using it a lot recently from what you've noticed.

You managed to sneak in the Slytherin common room after dinner as some students passed by, making your way to Draco's room.

You found the door unlocked but still knocked lightly, signaling your arrival not to startle the boy.

Once the door was close, you locked it tight and undid your spell.

"Hey, love." You smiled, turning around to see Draco sitting on his bed.

"Glad you could make it." He replied as you walked over to sit next to him.

He grabbed his wand and cast a Silencing Charm at the door and walls.

"I missed you so much, princess."

"Missed you too, Dray." You giggled in response.

On that very night, you talked to Draco for hours and hours, catching up on everything you missed out on.

"Hunter definitely likes me more."

"No, he likes me!"

It went on and on, almost as if there was no stopping you two from continuing the conversation.

Finally, you had to go back to avoid suspicion.

"I'll walk you out, stay safe, alright?"

"Alright, goodnight, Dray."

-----

"(Y/n), a word with you, please?"

"Yes, Professor McGonagall?"

You watched the students leave the classroom as you walked forward to see her.

"Your skills never doubted me, and you're doing amazing in my classes."

You patiently waited, knowing there was a but.

"But.."

There it was.

"Your Potions skills are dropping from what Slughorn has told me. I'm afraid you might not pass your N.E.W.T.s if you continue."

"I understand. I barely passed my O.W.L.S with Professor Snape's help." You muttered.

Sadly, Snape hadn't been there to help you anymore ever since Voldemort took over the ministry. Your grades couldn't help but drop.

"I've been thinking.. maybe you should drop out this semester."

"What? No! I just got your approval last week!"

"I understand, dear. But you're going to have to retake the year anyway."

"But, I-"

"You may still stay at Hogwarts. Though only in your common room."

You looked at her subtly, trying to read her expression.

"There's another reason, isn't there." You finally uttered.

McGonagall's gaze hardened, though softened back quickly.

"(Y/n).. your father.."

"D-Did dad find out..?"

"Not yet.. but he's catching on that we're all hiding something from him."

"Then.. then I'll fix everything."

With that, you turned around and dashed out of the classroom, though making your way to find Draco first.

"(Y/n)!"

-----

"Malfoy!"

Draco froze as everyone in the corridor turned to look at you.

You weren't sure how to play this out, but you knew you had to.

You caught up with the boy.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing?" He whispered.

"Screw you and your damn excuse of a daddy's boy!" You yelled, in a very dramatic and loud tone as well.

"What? I beg your pardon?" Now, he was also talking loudly.

"How dare you use me! I hate you!" You yelled once more.

You quickly winked at him as you slipped him a piece of paper.

"Read it when you're alone." You whispered as you passed by.

"Got it."

After you left, you gave a sigh of relief.

But then another sigh of 'God damn I'm in so much trouble'.

Because right now, you were standing in front of Professor Snape's office door, prepared to give it a knock.
