Hi guys, author Wink here!

(づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭❤️~

First off, thank youuuu for reading!! It's been what- two weeks- and we're already past 150??? Absolutely wild! I appreciate the comments and votes.

Anyways, here are some questions I've been asked about not only my book but the omegaverse. Feel free to comment more questions and if you're dying for answers I've made a discord server, which will be linked at the bottom of the QnA.

1. What is the omegaverse?

A subgenre of speculative erotic fiction, and originally a subgenre of erotica/fan fiction. A dominance hierarchy exists in humans, which are divided into dominant "alphas", neutral "betas", and submissive "omegas".

A/B/O

2. How does it work?

Omegas can be impregnated regardless of gender. They're typically characterized as submissive to Alphas, and in many stories, have little to no say in Alpha/Omega relationships. My story aims to change that, and if you've read you've seen who's clearly in charge.

Pheromones can attract mates, and on the rare occasion fated mates appear. Pheromones can also cause heat outbreaks where one omega going into a heat can send several nearby alphas into a rut, which can be dangerous.

Characters in this world can go through "omegapause," which is a menopause-like end to their fertility, and "rut leave," which is a personal leave from work or school to go off and satisfy their lust for mate. Some stories will contain "suppressants," which are birth control-like drugs that stop characters from having the urge to mate or from releasing scents.

Also in my story, clothing is genderless! If you happen to see Max in a dress (hint hint), he isn't crossdressing, in my story all clothing is worn by both sexes. There are no colors representing sexual genders however bolder colors represent alphas while lighter delicate colors represent omegas. Neutral dull colors represent betas.

3. What's the difference between an alpha and omega?

Alpha (α): socially (and in some interpretations, even biologically) dominant, physically built, short-tempered and a natural leader.

Beta (β): depending on the story, they are regular human beings, or have a mix of Alpha and Omega traits, or their own unique traits

Omega (Ω): submissive and gentle, calm and a peacemaker.

In my story, the way roles are decided are based on the appearance and reproductive system. Personalities are still an important factor but not as important in my story. For example, omegas naturally have wider hips so if someone being tested had this trait that would be noted.

4. Are you born with your roles?

In most omegaverse stories yes! Characters have two genders: a main one (male or female), decided by their external sexual organs, and a secondary one, that manifests during puberty, determined by their internal reproductive system. Finding out the second gender is known as being presented, which is basically going through tests from doctors.

Beta male/female, Alpha male, and omega female reproductive systems are the same as normal humans however omega male and alpha female reproductive systems are different from the norm. Females have pseudo penises and males have uteruses.

5. Isn't alpha a wolf so like are they wolves?

No, however they do share animalistic behaviors (such as scent-marking, ruts, heat cycles, etc.)

Some stories include more traits, especially werewolf stories, however mine will keep it simple and less out of bestialitiy territory.

6. What is a rut?

Only alphas have ruts, and majority of the time they are triggered from a nearby Omega a heat. Ruts basically make the alpha extremely horny like heats make omegas.

In my story, ruts and heats can happen randomly based off stress, close proximity to mate, or during mating season (two weeks where basically pheromones are crazy). Heats will occur more often and last longer due to basically being like periods.

7. What are pheromones?

Sex pheromones are pheromones released to attract an individual of the same species, encourage them to mate with them, or perform some other function closely related with sexual reproduction.

The pheromones in my story specifically focus on attracting a love interest (mate) and conveying emotions.

8. Are they gay?

Nathan is bisexual though he doesn't use labels often

Max is gay

9. What are mates?

Mates are basically couples. Fated mates are soulmates. Pheromones of the mates/fated mates rely on each other meaning fated mates have no choice but to be attracted to one another despite environment, social stance, etc.

While pheromones will recognize mates, mating is still necessary to completely bond them.

( ̄y▽ ̄)╭ Ohohoho.....

10. How does mating work?

An Alpha will mark an Omega by biting them to mark ownership and "mix scents." On an omega's neck, under the skin, are scent glands that when broken will mirror the scent of their alpha. Most of the time this happens while having sex to hide the pain with pleasure.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
