"What do girls like?" Alec's question caught Jace off guard, his neck snapping in surprise at his parabatai's inquiry.

"I'm sorry? Are you actually asking me for girl advice?" Jace responded, his tone conveying his disbelief at the situation.

"I have a date tonight, and I wasn't sure if I should bring her something," Alec confessed, unapologetic. "Don't act so surprised."

Jace took a deep breath, attempting to offer a suggestion. "Well, girls usually like flowers. Maybe you could get her those?"

Alec promptly shot down the idea. "Flowers remind her of death and funerals."

Jace sighed, thinking on his feet. "What about chocolate?"

"That could work, but she's lactose intolerant," Alec thoughtfully countered.

Jace rolled his eyes. "Then just get her dark chocolate. Problem solved."

"She doesn't like bitter flavors," Alec started to explain, but Jace interrupted.

"For the love of the Angel, just give her the damn credit card, then," Jace grumbled, growing frustrated.

"I don't want to screw it up," Alec admitted, furrowing his brows. "With Magnus, I just showed up, and things were fine."

"Right, so what's the difference now?" Jace questioned, genuinely curious.

"I want to be my best self when I'm around her," Alec declared, his voice filled with sincerity. "She makes me feel like a good person."

"That's sweet and all, but if my little cousin gives you trouble, just know," Jace said, placing a hand on Alec's shoulder, "that's on you. Because here I was, thinking, 'Let me introduce my new cousin to my supposedly gay parabatai and brother. Nothing will happen anyway.'"

"Well, she has a charm," Alec defended Alice.

"A charm? She practically spelled it out for you that she was interested," Jace responded with a hint of exasperation in his voice.

"I didn't think I would be attracted to her," Alec defended himself, growing defensive.

Jace glanced towards the room's entrance as Isabelle walked in, as if on cue.

"So, I was thinking, why don't we go to the club?" Isabelle suggested, a wide grin on her face and excitement in her voice.

"I'll go, but I don't think Alec will," Jace announced, assuming his brother's preferences.

Isabelle rolled her eyes, giving her brother a stern glare. "Oh, you're going. You barely go out."

"Izzy, I'm busy tonight," Alec replied, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"I don't care," Isabelle responded, her irritation palpable.

"I don't have time to deal with this," Alec stated firmly. "I'll be on my way. Thanks, Jace."

"Yeah, anytime," Jace replied, watching Alec walk out of the room, while Isabelle continued to frown.

Alec strolled along the streets of Brooklyn, clutching the small shopping bag containing a bracelet adorned with a mesmerizing stone. As he held it, he couldn't help but be captivated by how perfectly it mirrored Alice's essence. It was elegant, yet infused with a uniqueness that resonated with her character. Alice was undeniably one-of-a-kind.

Her authenticity astounded Alec. Unlike others, Alice didn't feel the need to present a facade to the world. She embraced her true self unapologetically. Whenever he looked at her, he saw someone who never pretended or wore a mask. It was a quality that Alec deeply admired.

Alice's presence had a profound effect on Alec. She made him feel both nervous and wonderfully vulnerable. With her, he felt a sense of comfort and safety, knowing he could confide in her without hesitation. Even when she interjected with her playful remarks or unexpected moments of wisdom, it only served to uplift him further.

As he continued his walk, Alec couldn't help but smile, anticipating the joy he would bring Alice with his heartfelt gift. It was a symbol of his admiration for her uniqueness and a testament to the connection they shared. In that moment, he knew that their bond was something truly special.

In Alec's eyes, Alice was a woman of extraordinary beauty. Her large, doe-like eyes, deep brown with a subtle glimmer, held an enchanting allure. They were not simply dark; they possessed a captivating light that seemed to radiate from within.

One of Alice's endearing features was her cute, slightly crooked nose. She would playfully tease about it, joking that if she ever decided to have a nose job, she would bill Will for it, claiming he was the reason for its slight tilt after an unfortunate encounter with a wall. Freckles adorned that crooked nose, scattering across her face like constellations, adding to her charm. Her lips had a naturally pouty shape, drawing attention with their subtle allure.

Recently, Alice had taken the daring step of chopping her hair into a chic French bob. She expressed a desire to resemble a sophisticated spy, and Alec couldn't help but find it suited her face, accentuating her features in a captivating way. Yet, secretly, he held a fondness for her long locks, cherishing the way they cascaded down her back.

Beyond her physical appearance, Alice's style was something Alec found truly captivating. She possessed an air of "old money" elegance, effortlessly donning timeless pieces that exuded a refined taste. It was evident that she invested time and effort into curating her outfits, and Alec couldn't help but think that her impeccable style reflected her privileged background. Her ensembles resonated with luxury, and her choice of accessories further enhanced her regal presence. Family heirlooms adorned her, each piece with its own rich history and significance.

To Alec, Alice was not only beautiful in appearance, but also in her distinctive style, as if she carried the essence of a bygone era. He admired her ability to effortlessly command attention and make a statement through her fashion choices, further deepening his appreciation for her unique allure.

With that, Alec decided to head back to the institute and get ready for his date with Alice.

I eagerly awaited Alec's arrival as we had planned a date at the local fair in Brooklyn. It had been a while since I had been in this area, so I used a portal to bring myself here.

Finally, I spotted Alec making his way towards me, and a wide smile illuminated my face.

"Hi, you look fantastic," he exclaimed, taking a moment to appreciate my outfit. I had opted for a flowing maxi dress, complemented by a stylish leather jacket and a pair of pristine white sneakers.

"Thank you," I replied, bubbling with excitement. "I can't wait to go on the Ferris wheel!"

As we began strolling through the fairgrounds, Alec casually brought up a topic that made me grin: "So, Costa reached out yesterday." The mention of my friend's name brought a wave of warmth.

"He wanted to double-check if the party is still on for us," Alec continued. He paused momentarily, his eyes meeting mine. "Consider this my confirmation with you."

"Good," I replied with enthusiasm. "Costa's parties are always enjoyable. Will is going too, and you should invite your friends as well."

"Maybe," he replied, a playful tone lacing his words. "We'll see how they're doing." His comment prompted a hearty laugh from me. "Yeah, okay. They better behave themselves."

"More or less," Alec replied, his smile mirroring my own. The vibrant lights of the fair illuminated his chiseled face, filling it with an infectious brightness and joy.
