'Fair skin and brown hair
A maiden so pure yet, out of reach
Like the ocean, eyes of blue
And a figure blessed by Aphrodite

Flawless smooth skin
A wild young man yet, low in status
like burnt hay, hair of dirty blonde
Portals of Hazel that sought attention

A chemistry spiraling dangerously
Kept in locks for the maiden was sought for
Engaged to another high class man
Forbidden was any step further

Yet, her smile haunted him
that red fire in her eyes set his skin ablaze
He searched her Ocean eyes
As he shook her hand wondering

There was a thrill she saw
Feelings spiked by no other man
His odd nature fascinated her more
A bite she wanted from a forbidden fruit

She saw life with him
As realistic as the art he drew
A moment of time locked in secret
A hush with light footsteps

This is would be bad and oh so scandalous
Upper class maiden tangled up
with a measly lower class artist boy
What a story for the headlines if exposed

Yet the desire sparked brighter
Yet Their hearts spoke a secret language
A language only they could ever decipher
A bite. One from a forbidden fruit cherished'

I finished reciting the poem and watched the place go silent. For a split second it was the loudest silence I've ever heard and another second it was the loudest cheering I've ever heard. I looked at Mason with the corner of my eyes and he looked at me in... Awe? No, I must not be seeing this right because it was gone as fact as it appeared

We were given an ovation for the great project and team work. If only Mrs. Brown knew what happened behind the scenes.

"Absolutely Breathtaking, Perfection!" She wiped away tears from the corner of her eyes "I've never felt such a sizzling atmosphere ever, Beautiful Amelia! You too Mason. You are both good poets and Amelia, you are an amazing reciter, your voice.." she thought for a moment "it gave emotions, feelings and life into this poem, absolutely Spectacular"

"Thank you" I and Mason said I'm unison, bowed once more and left

We arrived backstage and I watched Patricia pounce on Mason into a soul crashing hug. Ouch. I headed over to Oliver who was with the rest of the boys. They all applauded me and told me how lovely I was on stage

"Let's face it, Amelia is the best" Liam announced and they all agreed

"Thank you guys, we all did great"

"Come on Amelia, not as great as you. Did you hear that poem recitation! I'm sure you wrote that on your own, Mason could never!" Oliver assumed and he assumed right

"Like the ocean, eyes of blue
And a figure blessed by Aphrodite" Jack recited "like burnt hay, hair of dirty blonde. Portals of Hazel that sought attention" he placed his hands on his chest "these lines get me Every time!"

Until the show was over, we remained backstage. They all kept on going on and on about the poem, going as far as telling me to consider acting. They had no idea how much I suffered to get that just right. I am willing to act for a grade but not for money, I'd rather do something else to earn that.
