I walked into the gym, finding my way to my normal seat. I placed down my camera bags and sent Annie a quick text letting her know I made it safely and that I hope she's doing okay.
The girls had already warmed up and now they were doing passing drills.
I watched them and made eye contact with some of them, they each gave me a smile.
Everyone but Kate had now smiled or waved at me. She hadn't even looked at me.
Bluder gave the girls a 2 minute water break and they all walked towards me. Besides Kate. She just walked towards her water bottle.
"Okay, what the fuck?" I blurted out.
All the girls were highly confused since they didn't know anything about last night.
Jada knew exactly what I was talking about so she grabbed me and pulled me aside, away from the other girls.
"I'm not supposed to talk to you. But text me later." Jada said, then she walked towards Kate.
I returned to the group of girls while Kate and Jada just talked on the other side of the court.
"What's up Char?" Sydney asked.
"Nothing. Literally nothing is up." I said.
"Uh oh. What happened?" Kylie asked.
"Nothing Kylie. Nothing!" I exclaimed.
"Are you good?" Gabbie asked.
"Nope." I shrugged.
The girls were called back onto the court and I sat back down. The whole practice I refused to take even one picture of Kate.
After practice, I made sure to catch a ride with Caitlin, Kylie, and Sydney, knowing that Kate was supposed to ride with them.
We were all in the car besides Caitlin and Kate. My window was down so I could hear Caitlin talking to Kate.
"You coming?" Caitlin asked.
"No, I'm gonna ride with Jada and Gabbie." Kate said.
"Oh. So no pizza?" Caitlin asked.
"Nope." Kate said.
Caitlin got into the car.
"Kate's not coming?" Kylie asked.
"I guess not." Caitlin said.
"Wasn't it her idea to get pizza?" Sydney asked.
"Yep." Caitlin and Kylie both said.
"Can we still go anyways?" I pitched in.
"Of course." Caitlin laughed.
Taylor Swift played through the car's radio. Caitlin was singing the wrong lyrics to every single song that came on.
"Leave it to Caitlin to get the lyrics to every song wrong." I joked.
"I make my own remixes at this point." Caitlin laughed.
Once we got to the pizza place, we all went inside, ordering our pizza and sitting at a table. Kylie and Sydney got up to run to the bathroom so now it was just Caitlin and I.
"Okay, be real with me. What's going on with you and Kate?" Caitlin asked.
"Nothing." I said, knowing Caitlin had such a big mouth and would definitely tell everyone on the team.
"I promise I won't tell everyone on the team." She said. Exactly what I thought.
"It's nothing." I groaned.
"Do you like Kate?" Caitlin questioned.
"Caitlin. Not right now." I said.
"If you had a gun to your head, would you say yes or no?"
"I'd say to pull the trigger."
