Camille couldn't help but feel nervous as she opened the front door to find Paqui outside, it had been five months since she had gotten engaged to Sergio and she wished that he was here right now.

Real Madrid had started training for the new season and Camille had been a little bit sad to come home after a wonderful holiday; she had enjoyed being around Sergio and Isabel so much.

It had been a good way for them to bond and that was only going to change now that they were back in Madrid; Sergio's two sons would be coming to visit soon and that was going to be strange.

Things hadn't been easy since the two of them had gotten engaged and that was going to be rather strange; it didn't help that Pilar didn't like her but there was nothing that could be done about that.

Paqui stared at Camille, she was surprised to see that she had opened the door but this did make it easier; she had come all this way to speak with her privately.

"Hola," Camille greeted holding onto the door, she didn't know how to react to the sudden arrival of Sergio's mother; she had never thought that the woman would come to her home.

Since Sergio had moved in with them, Camille had never considered the fact that his parents would come here to see him.

They didn't like her and Camille doubted that they were ever going to like her after what had happened; she knew that she couldn't change the past and she did hope that they would get to know her.

"Would you like to come inside?" Camille asked, she knew that Paqui would know that Sergio was at training; she couldn't imagine what had brought her here today.

Paqui nodded her head, she had never thought that she would be doing this and she wanted nothing more than to avoid it but she knew that it had to happen.

It had been Mirian that had pointed out that eventually, Camille would be married to Sergio; a fact that would further pull him away from his family if they continued to protest his relationship.

"Your home is very beautiful," Paqui mumbled softly, it was not what she had been expecting and she found herself a little relieved that it wasn't some massive palace that her son was now living in.

It was crazy to think that her son would one day be married to Camille, he would be the Duke of Valentinois and Paqui wasn't sure how she felt about that but there was no way that they could avoid that.

Camille nodded her head, she felt awkward and she wanted nothing more than to get this over with; she couldn't believe that they were here alone together.

"I wanted to come and speak with you," Paqui murmured trying to get through this, she hadn't told anyone that she was coming but it was time to move forward and put the past behind them.

Yes, Paqui would never be able to forget how Sergio and Camille had come to be but from what she had seen; the brunette was about to become a permanent fixture in his life.

Mirian and Rene were moving on and seemed to be more accepting of the fact that Camille was a part of the family now; they wanted to get to know their new niece.

"I wanted to apologise for my behaviour these last few months," Paqui started holding her head high, she wasn't going to back down and she prided herself on the fact that she could admit when she had been in the wrong.

She was very aware of how close she was to losing everything, she had to act now if she wanted to keep her family; even if it meant accepting Camille and her Colleen into her life.

Camille was left rather speechless and she wasn't sure how to respond, she didn't know what to think about this at all.

"I love my family more than anything and I will do whatever I can to protect them," Paqui said nodding her head, she would do anything to keep them together and she was making sure that wouldn't change.

It was hard enough trying to hold everything together when nothing seemed to be working out; Paqui had never thought that things would work out this way.

José María had made it clear that she needed to change her ways if she wanted this to work out; she had to accept what had happened and focus on the future if she wanted to save their marriage.

Isabel was her granddaughter and if she wanted to be a part of her life then it meant that she was going to have to make nice with Camille.

It wasn't something that Paqui had never imagined that she would be here doing this but Pilar was gone now and that was it; she had moved on with her own life and gotten back together with her ex.

Paqui had been surprised when Mirian had told her what had really happened and she felt for her grandsons that had ended up stuck between two warring parents who just wanted the best for them.

"I would like to start fresh," Paqui insisted focusing on Camille, she was trying to make an effort and she wouldn't blame Camille for feeling wary of her right now.

Camille was left speechless, she didn't know what to say to that but she was wary to agree right away; it would make things easier for them if they didn't have to worry about Sergio's mother.

It had worried her that his family would never fully accept Isabel because of their dislike for her; she wanted Isabel to have both set of grandparents in her life.

For that reason, Camille was willing to give Paqui a chance here; she wasn't going to completely trust her and she was sure Sergio would be wary as she was about this.

"I think we can do that," Camille agreed with a nod of her head, she had a lot of things to do and she knew that things were about to start moving forward for her and Sergio.

The two women were silent for a moment as they thought about what this could mean for the both; it wasn't going to be easy but they were willing to give it a chance especially if it meant making their family happy.

Camille cleared her throat, she guessed that it was going to be odd for a while and she peeked towards the clock knowing that Sergio would be home in a couple of hours.

"Would you like to see Isabel?" Camille offered gently, she was sure that this would be a good first step and she was sure that Paqui would like to see her granddaughter.

The woman hadn't spent much time with Isabel and Camille felt that was more to do with the fact that she didn't like her than anything against Isabel.

Paqui slowly nodded her head, she had kept her distance in the seven months since Isabel had been born; she wanted to dote on her youngest grandchild like she had done with the others.

The two headed over to the cot where Isabel was taking her afternoon nap; it was nice and Camille liked to get dinner started while she did so.

Paqui couldn't help but smile as she looked down at Isabel, she was a beautiful little girl and she couldn't believe how big she was getting; it was only two months ago that they'd been at her baptism.

"She's beautiful," Paqui whispered with a smile, she liked the idea of spending more time with her and she was sure that in time it wouldn't feel this awkward.

Everything was strange right now and Paqui knew that she was going to have to work hard if she wanted to gain Sergio's trust again; she was going to show him that she could do it.

Camille nodded her head, she had to agree there and she knew that Sergio was going to have his hands full when she was older.

It did make her wonder what her second child would look like; she hadn't told Sergio yet and she wondered how he would react to the news that they were expecting again.
