Summer's POV

"This place is just like I remember," my mom sighed while walking through the house. I caught Blake rolling his eyes and couldn't help but giggle.

"Have a seat," Adam said politely, but there was a slight edge to his voice.

"Thanks son," my dad said.

"Don't call him your son," Blake shot angrily.

"Blake," Adam said with a look. Blake quickly became quiet, but still had a glare on his face.

"Where do we even begin?" My mom said with a smile, as if she was remembering a happy dream.

"How about you begin by telling us why you left," Ryan said, quickly wiping the smile off of our mom's face.

"Well, that's a very broad question, and it will take a while to answer," my mom said, looking uncomfortable.

"We lived four years without our parents, not ever knowing what happened," Jake said pointedly. "We have nothing but time."

"Well, alright. We did come here anyway," my dad said to my mom, raising his eyebrows.

"Okay. This is going to take a while."

"Enough with the stalling," Blake said boredly. "Just tell us the damn story."

"Well, thirty years ago, we met at work," my mom began.

"You guys met at a furniture company?" Victor scoffed.

An uncomfortable silence followed.

"Here's the thing," my father said. "We lied."

"No surprise there," Andrew mumbled.

"Enough," Adam silenced. "None of you talk. Let them tell their story."

My parents nodded a thanks to Adam, to which he just pretended he didn't see. My dad coughed awkwardly.

"Anyways, we lied. We're not furniture salesmen. We're spies."

We all sat, stunned at the sudden announcement. As usual, Blake spoke up first.

"WHAT. THE. HELL!" Blake yelled, startling us all.

"Blake," Adam said again. "Let them speak." Blake huffed, but begrudgingly listened to Adam.

"Okay, continue," Adam said through gritted teeth.

"We are spies. Now, we know you might think we're crazy, but it's true. We're spies. Thirty years ago, we met at the headquarters. We were sent on a mission together. Although we both in the department of disguises, we had never met before. The department of disguises is where people disguised themselves on missions to find out secrets. In our department, we are often assigned someone to be our partner for missions, since it's not unusual to play a couple. The agency tries to match us up with someone that we have good chemistry with. I guess they never expected us to work well together," my mom said while smiling at my father.

"They probably didn't expect someone so head strong like your mother to work together so well with someone so mellow like me," my dad laughed lightly.

"But we did. We became the number one pair to be sent on missions disguised as a couple. It was actually one of the best departments. We went on fake honeymoons, we went to shows, and we traveled to so many places. It was almost like living a life of luxury, besides all the fighting of course. I guess after spending so much time together, we just fell in love."
