Chapter 24

3rd POV
Emilie, Newt, Minho and the few remaining survivors of the have gathered around the maze doors as they watch two of Gally's goons drag out a seemingly passed out Thomas and Teresa struggling to get them to loosen their grip on her. When they finally reach the maze doors they throw Thomas to the ground and everyone looks up at Gally.
"Gally...It doesn't feel right, man" Jeff finally speaks up feeling uneasy about this situation.

"Yeah, what if Thomas is right? Maybe he can lead us home" Winston continued hoping to convince Gally but comes to no avail.

"We are home. Okay? I don't wanna have to cross any more names off that wall" He responds to Jeff and Winston trying to convince them that this is the right thing to do.
"You really think banishing us is gonna solve anything?" Teresa interrupts. Gally finally turns around and glares at her.

"No. But this isn't a banishing. It's an offering" As soon as he said this instantly started an uproar.

"Wait! What?" Before Teresa could even register what's happening Galley's goon's drag her to a poll and start tying her up.
"Gally, what are you doing?" Minho finally yells out.
"You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the maze after what he has done? Look around you! Look at our Glade! This is the only way. And when the Griever's get what they came here for... everything goes back
to the way it was"
Everyone has gone silent after what he said. They didn't know what to say or do in this situation. They were scared because whatever decision they make could mark their death.
"Are you listening to this?" Teresa yell's out hoping to convince the other gladers.
"Why are you all just standing there? He's crazy!"
"You shut up," Gally says in a threatening voice but she continues.
"If you stay here, the Griever's are going to come back, and they're gonna keep coming back...
until you're all dead!"
"Shut up! Tie him up!" Gallys goons are scared and because of this, they hesitate to pick him up.
"Did you hear me? I said tie him up!" With that, they pick him up but as soon as they do they are ambushed by Thomas, Newt, Minho, Teresa, and Emilie.
"You're full of surprises, aren't you?" Gally says not looking surprised at all.

"You don't have to come with us, but we are leaving" Thomas is silent for a moment as he looks among the group.
"Anyone else who wants to come now is your last chance" He finally says.
"Don't listen to him, he's just trying to scare you" Gally tries to warn the others.
"No, I'm not trying to scare you. You're already scared..." Thomas looks at everyone clearly frightened by the entire situation but is determined to bring as many people as he can out of the maze.

"...I'm scared. But I'd rather risk my life out there then spending the rest
of it in here. We don't belong here. This place isn't our home. We were put here. We were trapped here. At least, out there we have a choice. We can make it out of here. I know that" At first they were hesitant but more than half of the boys walked over and joined Thomas and his gang.
"I'm sorry Gally, it's over. Just come with us" Emilie pleas to him one last time. But he just turns to her with an emotionless expression.
"Good luck against the Grievers" Even though she and Gally never got along it still hurt her because as much as she dislikes him she doesn't want him live the rest of his life being trapped.
Emilie was clearly about to say something but Newt tugs on her arm and gives her a look basically telling her its hopeless. With this, she looks back at Gally and the few boys who decided to stay behind.
" Good luck to you too" Is all she says before she runs into the maze along with everyone else.
" Everybody, this way!" Thomas and Minho were in front of the group leading everyone while Emilie was behind the group making sure no one was being left behind. Everyone was tired, not many of the guys were used to running so much.
"You okay Newt?" Emilie asks as she notices his ankle starting to give him a hard time.
