17- You were the only one

"Coco!" I hear a not so quiet whisper

"Whats up munchkin?" I hear Caleb mumble in response,

"Bexley asked for you, she's crying" The voice I now recognize as Max's

"Okay, lets go" I hear Caleb say just as a weight is lifted from my lap

My eyes flutter open to see Caleb carrying Max up the stairs to my room.

I wait a few minutes, but after Caleb doesn't return, I creep my way upstairs. I see my door is cracked and slink in to see Caleb sitting in my bed with Bexley, Julia and Max curled up on either side of him all using him as a pillow. his head is resting on the wall behind him with his eyes closed.
His eyes snap open when the floor creeks beneath me.

"Is she okay?" I whisper as I stand by the door
The moonlight shining through my balcony door shone on the girls faces, revealing Bexleys
tear stained one.

"She'll be fine" he nods

"Belle can you stay with us" Julia asks, picking her head up off of Caleb's chest

"Sure" I smile and nod at her as I walk over and climb in to my bed next to them
I wrap one of my blankets around around Max, Julia and I as they cuddle up next to me.

"Go back to sleep girls" I whisper to them
They just nods and slowly close their eyes. After a few minutes I feel them both relax and their breath even out.

"Couldn't sleep without me?" Caleb whispers with a smirk

"Shut up Kazer, I just wanted to see if Bex was okay"

He just huffs and nods "she's okay, she just had nightmares sometimes. It just got really bad tonight. I'm usually the only one that can calm her down" he nods as he moves some of bexleys hair out of her face

"Kinda like when you had nightmares" he grins at me

I used to have nightmares when I was Bexleys age, it was around the time my mom left, that turned out to be a reoccurring theme in my dreams.

"You were the only one" I nod

"I guess I'm just kind of amazing" he smiles making me roll

"Don't flatter yourself Kazer" I quietly scoff as I rest my head against the wall behind me

I feel an arm snake around my waist and before I can resist, I'm being pulled to Caleb's side
"What are you doing?" I question him, he just shrugs without opening his eyes

"The walls uncomfortable" he says simply
I sigh loudly before resting my head against his chest

"Go to sleep princess, you're tired" he whispers

"You have to be uncomfortable"

"I'm fine, go to sleep" he mumbles

"Fine" I huff, "goodnight Co"

"Night princess"

One month later

Today was the first game of football playoffs, the boys had gone and almost undefeated season, only loosing one game against our schools biggest rivals, East Warren High. Other than that, they have never been better. It was starting to get cold as it was mid October, but the Texas heat has for the most part stayed strong.

"Are we going to Kanes after the game?" I ask my brothers as I join the group on the football field

"Of course, we have to have a victory meal after we win" Jordan smirks
