You're The Only One I Can Trust

Amar's POV

I threw my bag on my chair and plopped down on my bed. School was finally over, well, at least for two weeks. I submitted my last essays and projects, and I get to relax for two whole weeks. I kicked my shoes off and rolled to the other side of my bed. I got up and took my laptop out of my bag and entered my password. I opened up Spotify and pressed on a song. I grabbed the book I was currently reading off my nightstand and opened it. I was halfway through 'What If Your Whole Life Was Based On Lies'. I plopped back down on my bed and started reading.

"Boy, you give me feelings, never felt before

I'm making it obvious by knocking at your door

I know that I'm coming tonight

You know I'm coming tonight

Don't want to deny it anymore."

Ariana's voice rang around my room. I felt like listening to some of her older songs. It felt like I was only hearing her latest two albums. In my defence, every song on 'Thank You, Next' is a bop.

I bolted upright, throwing my book to the side. "Oh my gosh, Cole!" I got up and dug through my bag to find my phone. Once I attained it, I quickly texted him.

I am praying you don't hate me. I am so sorry for not texting or calling you. After the whole hospital chaos, I forgot. Do you hate me?

I pressed send and held the phone against my chest as I paced around my room, waiting for his response.

What if he hasn't gotten out of school, yet?

What if he's working, and I'm bothering him?

What if he ignores me?

What if he's moved on?

"Of course he's moved on! You haven't texted him or called him in two weeks!" I answered my thought.

What if he's-

My thought got interrupted when my phone rang, the notification telling me I got a message. I unlocked my phone and was happy to see that he wasn't ignoring me and responded.

Hey Princess :)

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Why was I so concerned.

So I take it you don't hate me then...

No! I would never hate you

I understand that you had to help a friend through a tough time.

Thank you for understanding, Cole. It was a tough time, and then it got worse

What do you mean???

Can we meet? I don't want to tell you over text

And I want to see you

Yeah, uh, there's a cafe near me, you wanna meet there?

Sure, send me the address. I'll meet you in fifteen.

After I got the address, I hastily changed into something else. It was a sunny day for Doncaster, a bit chilly, though. I just changed my shirt. I pulled a white top over my head and kept my jeans and my red shoes, but I threw a purple cardigan over my outfit.
