Are You Going To Keep Staring At Me Or Are You Going To Kiss Me?

Louis' POV

It was quiet and dark in the room if I could even call it that. There were no doors, windows, not even a roof. It was endless blackness, and the only sound was my thoughts. I couldn't feel anything either, which was weird. It wasn't numbing; it was more like not sensing your body. I could look around the "room" as if I moved my head, but if I looked down, there was nothing. No torso, no legs, nothing. It was freaky. I started thinking I was lucid dreaming, but then again, I never experienced lucid dreaming, so I wouldn't be able to know if I was or not. It was horrible. I felt trapped in something that I couldn't explain, and I couldn't even attempt to move my arms or open my eyes because I couldn't feel them. I was just a bubble of thoughts, and soon my voice grew annoying.

Listening to my endless thoughts wasn't even the worst. I almost freaked out when I started hearing other voices. By that point, I convinced myself that I was losing my mind. I couldn't make anything out of the sounds since they were all jumbled and distorted. But as I heard a conversation, the voices started to clear up, and I could understand what the owners of the sounds were saying.

"If they wake up, Charlie. You heard the doctor; they might not wake up."

"Hey, you can't think like that. You can't give up yet."

"It's been two weeks, Charlie. It seems pointless to have hope."

Wait, I know those voices. Charlie? One was Charlie, and the other, I couldn't place quite yet.

"We need a miracle, Charlie."

Amar? Amar! That was Amar! They both sounded distressed; I had to do something to help them. They wanted me to wake up (I didn't even know I was asleep), so I tried my best to wake up. I started slow; with my fingers. It felt like lifting a hundred thousand pounds, but I could sense my fingers, and they were moving, just a bit. It felt like hours to me (although later I learned it was only a few seconds), but I could feel my legs and my arms and finally my face. For what felt like the three thousand times, I tried opening my eyes. You know, prying elevator doors would be more manageable than this, but I got the hang of it.

I blinked a few time to get adjusted to the bright light hanging above me. It was crazy bright in whatever place I was in at the moment. Once I could see well, I propped my head a little and looked around. I saw four machines all with crazy lines and numbers and letters, but what was important was that a little to my right, Amar and Charlie were hugging. My voice was croaky from not using it, but I managed to say,

"That's disgusting! He's old enough to be your grandpa!"

Yeah, it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, but they heard me.

There was a soft gasp, and Amar turned around. "Louis."

Next thing I know, Charlie and Amar are rushing over to my sides.

Amar grasps my arms as if to see if I was real. "Oh my gosh! You're awake! You're awake!" A surprised chuckle left her mouth. "Charlie, go get the doctor!"

Amar grabbed my hands, and her tears started to fall on our hands. "I can't believe it; I had just lost hope."

Before I could speak, Charlie rushed in with the doctor alongside him. The doctor moved Amar out of the way so she could do a check up on me. She checked my response to light, sound, and touch (more like pain, like seriously did she have to pinch every one of my fingers. Jeez). It was an uncomfortable situation, to be honest. I just sat there as she looked me over.

The doctor slapped my shoulder softly. "You gave everybody a big scare there, kid. We didn't know if you would wake up."

I cleared my throat, preparing my self to use my voice again. "How long was I asleep for?"
