"How much longer are you going to take?"

Little bit of controversy on this one but Johnny boy is the target here.

"Desmond.... and Molly" John sung into the microphone.

"Molly..." Paul echoed a little quieter.

The band was recording their takes for each song. I sat in the studio. Quiet. Watching. John started playing and smiling at me. He made funny faces while singing and the whole band looked like they were having a pretty good time.

I was admiring all the instruments the band had. Ringo's drum kit was in very good condition and it surprised me a little. John was replacing strings on his guitar because one of them broke when he was trying to play The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. Paul was cleaning on of his guitars and Ringo was just kinda sitting at the drum kit. Messing with his sticks. I walked over to Ringo and sat beside him. He handed me his drumsticks without a word and moved for me to sit. I sat and didn't really know what to do.

Ringo had just come back pretty recently from a small vacation. I've heard he was writing a song while away. He smiled as he adjusted my hands to hold the sticks. I just kinda tapped the drums. Not too loud, I didn't want to annoy anyone in the vicinity.

George was talking to John and Paul, and was being a little dismissed by the both of them. That's when he walked out. No words. They didn't really say anything. They exchanged a glance and went back to what they were doing. Nobody could replace George at the current time so they just took advantage of the situation.

I looked at Ringo. He looked slightly concerned but his eyes told me he wasn't surprised that George walked out. "Do you know what that was about?" I whispered.

"George wants to put a song on the album."

"So why don't they just put it on?" Ringo didn't answer me. He just looked at the door. Then back to me, helping me with my drumming tactics.

The door closed rather loudly and I looked up. So did everyone else. In walked George. A look of confidence was plastered on his face. Behind him was a man I had seen hundreds of times before. Behind George was Eric Clapton. John and Paul scrambled up off the floor and got ready for whatever George had prepared. I got up and walked out of range of the microphones. They played and I listened. And waited.

John was packing up his guitar. He was talking to the band about something. Laughing, talking to Eric. He smiled while he talked. I stayed seated, I knew how long this was going to take. Like when you're a child and your mother says it's time to go but then ends up talking to her friends for a good hour.

At last, John looked my way. The band was leaving so John was stopping his conversations.

"Ready to go love?" He smiled, holding out his hand for my to grab.

I sat in the chair with my arms crossed. Looking like every teenager who just wants to leave. "Yeah, are we actually leaving?" I asked him sarcastically pushing myself off the chair. He just rolled his eyes, still smiling. "God John, how much longer are you going to take?" I smirked, grabbing his hand.

"How much longer are you going to take?" He made his voice all high pitched and flipped his head side to side, mocking me.

"I don't sound like that." I laughed.

"I don't sound like that" He mocked.

"I don't!" I laughed.

"I think I got that impression spot on." He smiled.

"Well neah meh neh." I shot back, sticking out my tongue.

"Neah neah meh meh" He stuck out his tongue in response.

This went on, our very civilized argument went on until we got home. This wasn't an unusual thing that went on. Arguments usually morphed into this before they had a chance to get out of hand.

I do this. If you're arguing with me or just messing around, I'll shoot back with this. Civilized I know. It works most of the time. Very good way to loosen tension.

Hope y'all are doing well!

Stay Lovely 😊
