20-Transcending

"What do you mean- it's you?" Hissed Lexi, as they cornered me.

You should've seen their eyes. Full with-hatred, suspicion and shock. My eyes welled up and the acidic tear slithered down my face.

"I-I-I." I stuttered, while thousands of picturesque memories flooded back.
"I knew all along."

"What do you mean you knew? What do you mean it's you?" Scrutinised Lexi, whose pupils were flared.

"I didn't know it was me but-" I responded
"-This feeling always loomed around. I didn't know but I didn't deny it either. It had to be one of us." Muttered I.

"You did this to us." Snapped Lexi pointing her finger to me.

"What did he do, exactly?" Said Jess.

"That's the question what did he do!" Yelled Lexi, as she jerked her head towards me. I felt intimidated. Yet I too felt I deserved it.

Yet at that moment, that was the least of our worries. Something changed. We felt it. All of us did.

"Somethings different." Said Kai, as his eyes lolled, piercing around the room.

"Your Eyes!" Screamed Stiles, gesturing to Lexi.

"Your Eyes. Grey." Said Lexi, returning the gesture. While Lexi's eyes had sparked a golden yellow, Stiles' had fused into a steel khaki.

"Wha-" Said I, with a loss of words.
I too felt my eyes burning, like they were glowing crimson.

"My hair!" Whimpered Jess. She had a strand of her pigtails in her hand, as it too, along with all the other siblings, started changing colour. Her's into a deep purple.

The only one, whose hair hadn't changed was Lexi, however that was because her hair was already golden blonde(alike her eyes) yet it seemed more yellow.

Amongst all the chaos, something worse had arose. I felt like I was being pushed. Almost like my soul was transcending. I could see the blur of Lexi, as her gaseous appearance eviscerated into nothing.

Next thing you know I opened my eyes to a familiar sight. The air was thick with a purple fog and it smelt of flowers. Yet as I looked around, the flowers had all died and withered- leaving their unsaturated corpses behind.

It was then, when Kai appeared out of the air. Almost through an invisible crack through the sky, only visible for the second while he teleported.

His hair was an aqua blue, with azure highlights. His eyes were cyan like a deep lake.
I ran over to him to see if he was alright. He didn't speak to me though. It was like his voice had broke. I did wonder though, if he was like that by chance or by choice. Possibly refraining to speak to me like I was a betrayer.

After a few minutes. Lexi too had arrived. Then Jess. Finally Stiles canon-balled the floor as he dived from the sky. His silver hair shined as he swept the dust from it.

"This is where the building was. The one from Opentam. When the rift disappeared to the ground." Said Jess shortly.

"Then where is it?" Remarked Lexi, scanning the area.

Around us was rubble. The ground seemed flat, which was suspiciously strange as before, the last time we came, the building rose from the ground as the rift got swallowed.

"No it can't be." Said Kai as he swiftly rushed towards the rubble, where the building used to be. He started clearing it off, yet Stiles used his strength and with one quick swish, it had been gone. The rubble, now gone, had revealed a well. A familiar one.

"It's the rift." Stated I.

"But then that means-" Said Lexi.

"Yes. That means the building has been submerged, therefore Methaya can escape or has probably done so already-" Said Jess, as her body trembled.

"Who brought us here?" Asked Lexi.

Out of nowhere, a voice echoed behind us.
"I did."

As we all turned around. Carol stood there ajar.

"H-how?" Said Stiles who was about to lean for a hug before she pushed her hand out.

"My powers have grown stronger. They've flourished into more advanced psychic abilities. I can do more than predict the future now and I'm guessing it had to do with the well- I mean rift." Said Carol smugly, whose voice seemed more tranquil- like Siri.

"Why did you bring us here?" Questioned Kai.

"Well I'm sure you figured it out. That Ember is the marker." Said Carol shortly.

"How did you kno-" Said Jess, as she abruptly stopped. "Unless- you already knew."

"Indeed I did. It was the first vision I had before I told you. Remember the one about you dying. I saw you in a cloak with your palms glowing, right before you suddenly evaporated into dust. " Uttered Carol monotonously.

"But-" I started.

"Let me finish!" Snapped Carol sharply.
"After the dream, I knew what was going on. It made sense. Of course you had it. You all did. If I had it and she too had it. Then you also must possess the ability."

"The ability for what?" Asked Jess

"Psychic ability." Stated Carol, almost sounding like a madman. "True psychic ability. None of that dream crap- crud."

"No-" Said Lexi in disbelief.

"Yes. How else could it explain it. Every descendent from Milia was a Marhyine(possessed psychic ability).
I am a Marhyine. Your mother was a Marhyine.
You all should be a Marhyine." Said Carol, who was increasingly becoming more and more confusing.

"So how does that explain anything?" Hissed Lexi sassily.

"Well Lexi, it is obvious that Methaya too possesses strong physic powers and has manipulated Ember, without his knowledge into doing her bidding and marking you." Cried Carol.

"Wait-wait, I'm confused. I thought Marhyine could foreshadow things only. How is it that Ember has travelled through our dreams and subconsciousness and altered with us psychically and emotionally? How is it that you teleported us-from thin air?" Enquired Jess, tiredly.

"Each Marhyine has psychic potential but they mainly have a speciality. Mine was foreshadowing or so I thought. Perhaps since with each generation the curse on Milia, the one which inhibited her generations from receiving her true powers, weakened. It would make sense as after the next generation- you guys had her true powers. Let me put it to perspective. My parents; although they died when me and Mana(your mother) was very young, possessed weaker psychic powers. They  could only predict futures that were very near. Whereas me and your mother had much stronger powers as the bloodline became further away from Milia's. Originally I suppressed my powers to cope with the loss of Mana, yet now since the rift has opened- I have been swarmed with power. Then came along all of you, who contained Milia's original power. Don't you see? You can defeat Methaya. You are stronger!" Yelled Carol triumphantly.

"Carol. Are you CRAZY? Do we have this strong psychic power that you keep talking about? So far all we've been able to do- well two of us have been able to dream and not even well by the way. No. Even then, how did she manipulate Ember and why him?" Bitched Lexi.

"Don't you realise? Stiles predicted the future first, when he realised Ember was dying. Kai and Jess, when you both fainted, you were able to control both your subconscious and your memories to break out of the link.
Lexi, when you went in Jess' subconscious, you were able to speak to the boys, simply using your mental voice, psychically. Finally Ember, you were able to mark everyone and travel between reality and fantasy." Said Carol, breathlessly.

"Wait a minute. Everything. Absolute everything we done, we've been doing for Methaya." Muttered Kai, realising the inevitable.

"This was part of her plan." Said Lexi.

"We're part of her plan." Realised I.
