Shane's POV

Everytime I needed to think, I find myself going to the park. Lately I've been going to the park a lot, constantly having to think things through. Following the park's trail, I passed by a river and staring at the river, something stuck out at me and I don't know if it was because of the color or because it was pretty obvious.

It was Allison sitting under the tree on the other side. I slowly made my way to her. "Hey Alli." I said quietly stopping a few steps behind, just in case she didn't want any company.

She looked up at me and gave me a sincere half smile, "How'd you find me?" She muttered.

"I was on the trail and saw something sticking out." I said pointing to the other side.

"Oh." Was the response I got from her.

"I came here because, I wanted to know how you are." I paused looking at how she could care less. But the thought of Ava telling me not to give up on her played in my head. "So how are you?" I finally asked after dying for a response since yesterday.

"I've been better." She muttered. "My parents are going to rehab." She added.

"That's great." I said cheerfully crouching on the ground to sit next to her.

"Yeah." She smiled her eyes going astray again.

"You know I keep telling myself it was a good thing I was at the park yesterday." Her eyes began to look curious when she widened her eyes. "I thought that if I wasn't there then maybe you'd be happier now." I ended my sentence looking off into the distance.

"I'm glad you were there." She said, her expression quickly becoming captivating to me. Her expression made me wonder more about whether or not Ryan and Alli had a rocky relationship last year.

"How long has Ryan been abusive towards you?" I asked not really expecting the answer she told me next.

"Five months after we started dating." She muttered. "It started out as a little pushing here and there and some shoving, then escalated to grabbing and slapping." Her voice cracked. My whole body tensed up at the sound of Alli's cracked voice. "I know I was stupid for sticking around, but I kept telling myself that this wasn't going to happen again because he loved me." Her voice got softer, and quieter as she said the words.

My fists clenched at the thought of Ryan hurting Allison. "You aren't the one that is stupid. Any guy that decides to hurt a girl for no reason is stupid. Alli, Ryan may have hurt you, but that doesn't give him an excuse to keep doing it. If he's capable of hurting you, just think about the girls he's hurt before you or who he will hurt after you." I rambled angry about the subject.

"You're right I didn't deserve it." She muttered.

"No, Alli no one deserves to be hit no matter the reason." I stated showing deep concern about the subject.

"You're right. No one does." She said softly gazing off towards the other direction. "Not even people who's done wrong in this world." I believe I heard her mutter.

I ignored it and was getting upset that our conversation was dying. I quickly tried to thin of something that'll revive this conversation, but nothing popped in my head except how I felt for her. So I went with it.

"Allison." I paused, it took a second for her to look at the ground next to me. "I'm sorry." I sighed not being able to see her face.

She looked at me confusingly, "Sorry for what?" She asked.
