IT was 2am.

Miki knew, because she went blindly searching for her phone in the darkness, only to be blinded by her lockscreen.

Shielding her eyes from the brightness, she placed her phone down and looked at the door sleepily. A loud bang had woken her up, but she wasn't worried.

Wooyoung occasionally got called in the middle of the night if there was an emergency, or if a patient urgently needed him.

She opened her door slowly, peeking into the dim hallway in front of her. Soon enough, he emerged from the bathroom, his face in shadows.

"Can I help with anything?" She whispered, opening her door further.

Even though she couldn't see his expression, she noticed the slight shaking of his head. "I'm fine. Go back to bed." His voice was still rough from sleep.

"Okay." Miki stepped back.

He unexpectedly came closer, until he was close enough that she could smell the minty toothpaste on his breath. His hand grasped her door handle.

"I'll see you in the morning," he murmured, before closing the door for her.

She laid awake for another thirty minutes, eventually settling into an uneasy slumber.

WOOYOUNG arrived home at 9am. Miki had an early class, having already left an hour earlier.

Unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt, he found a cup of coffee on the kitchen island. After reheating it for thirty seconds, he carried it to the living room where he was finally able to rest his feet.

He took a tiny sip. Then frowned.

It was exactly how he liked it.
