She was caught one time
He had seen the scars
And asked her what was wrong
She finally let out what she kept inside
And he had claimed to know
What it felt like
And that she wasn't alone
But she was
when she needed someone most

But he said he would keep her secret
If she kept his
And she told him
She had cuts that were hidden,
Fresh and new
And they were the result of the suicidal thoughts that lay within

And before she knew
He was like everyone else
And no longer cared
About the girl who hurt herself
She was scared
Of what she could do
But eventually she carried on
And with the blade she drew
Across her skin
And whispered to herself
I thought you could cure me of my sins
But she saw she was wrong
Because who could save someone
Who could never truly belong
To this cruel society
Where she was just a liability
In which the words someone said
Could cause another to wish
They were dead

So she thanked the boy
Even though she had felt destroyed
just as she thought someone cared
They turn around and give her stares
But she can't blame him
For he is able to find happiness
While her light just grows dim
And she gets sick of living

Someone needs to save her quick
Before she takes her final breath
And by then it'll be too late
To save her from herself
And all of her self hate
