Hermione Pov

The holidays have been rather eventful. We took Luna, Theo, Blaise and Ginny -Fred and George snuck her out of the Burrow so she could join us- to East London, and we ate some delicious doughnuts from Percy Ingles. I worry that we have got both Blaise and Ginny addicted to the delightful treats because they continued to discuss for hours how amazing they were. "We know what to get them as a wedding gift now," Draco joked quietly. I laughed in agreement.

A few days later, my parents went on holiday together so Andromeda, Xenophilius and Narcissa took Luna and me shopping in Diagon Alley which was then announced to the Wizarding World in the Daily Prophet the next morning. Those nosey so-and-so's. We did predict that would happen though so we publicly made it out like we happened to bump into Narcissa whilst she was shopping on her own. Draco couldn't be bothered to come and we all agreed it would be too risky anyway so he stayed home with Theo, Blaise and Teddy. Narcissa was worried the three teens could accidentally blow up the Manor, so she called on Kreacher to check up on them every half an hour. The only mishap was Theo broke Draco's favourite mug so they were arguing for a bit. Draco was still feeling sour when we returned.

Tonight is the last night in the Manor before we have to return to Hogwarts. Theo and the Lovegoods left today, Blaise is staying until tomorrow. My ring is telling me that Draco is feeling a bit down so I go check on him.

I find him folding some clothes and putting them into his suitcase which now had an extension charm on it. "Hey Mya," he says absently.
"You okay love?" I ask him as I sit on the bed and start folding clothes along with him. "The ring says you're a bit down."
"I had it out with Buckbeak today," he replies. " Whilst you were in the garden, Aunt Andromeda wanted me to fly him, let him get some exercise so Blaise got him out of the stables and I tried the techniques Hagrid taught me a few weeks ago."

He's changed the subject, but this is interesting so I say "Did it work?"

"Took a while, Hagrid says Hippogriffs never forget faces but after a while... I tamed the beast better than a lion tamer!" he grins with achievement.
Crookshanks jumps onto the bed and I start stroking his back, "Well done! Wait until Harry finds out!"

"I'm building a list of things to rub in his face," he chuckles.
"Don't be mean."
"He deserves it, did I tell you that he threatened me on the train the other week?" he protests. He relates to me what happened on the train whilst Luna and I were sleeping.
"Who knows what goes on in the mind of a war hero?" I sigh.

Draco examines me as I follow the sleeves of my jumper. "You're going too slowly."
"So?" I shrug. "We're not in a rush."
"But doesn't it annoy you?"
"What?"
"Doing it slowly."
I laugh, "Why would it?"
"Because it's slow!" he exclaims. "What can I do to make you speed up?..." he pauses for a second then smiles, "Race."

A grin creeps onto my lips as I get up, "You're on."
"One..." Draco begins. "Twothreego!"
"Hey, you cheat!" I exclaim as he folds two t-shirts before I can even pick up one.
"I'm Slytherin, remember," he retorts.
I start laughing and pick up the pace, before I know it, we're done... and Draco won.

I sigh in defeat, "You won because you cheated," I argue.
"No, I'm just faster than you," he replies. "And I used a spell to fold them as well."
"Cheater," I exclaim. "Now you've got to tell me what's bothering you."

"Am I not allowed to feel a bit down?" he asks sitting down on the bed.
"You are," I say. "But, you're not allowed to not tell me why you're feeling down."
"Double negative."
"Whatever," I shrug. "Go on then," I prompt.
"I'm just... I guess...ugh!" he stutters. "I just like not having to hide all this... you know? Not having to stand two feet apart whilst walking down the halls. Having to pretend to be arguing, it's fun but...

"It's hard pretending to hate someone you love?" I suggest.

"Exactly," he sighs.

"We'll get through this ok Dray?" I tell him. "We've only got a few more months left and then we can start teasing the public just the way you like until finally coming out that we've been married for a year."

He chuckles, "That would be fun, I'd imagine Skeeter will have a field day."

"And then Blaise and Ginny will get married and it'll all die down," I add.

He nods in agreement.

Third Person Pov

12 Grimmauld Place

Harry sat in silence staring at the Black family tree. Even though Sirius, Tonks and Lupin had been burnt off the tree (the latter two by Kreacher), Harry could still sense a part of them when he was alone in the room.

His eyes drifted to the side where he saw his rival, Draco staring back at him, a frown on his lips. He'd often stare at his picture, mostly to pity him which Draco himself would see as being looked down upon. He would look back and compare their lives, Draco had everything but lost it all and Harry had nothing then gained everything.

Something caught Harry's eye, something flickering like if a concealment charm was losing its power. He thought he'd imagined it. An image tied to Draco's as proof of marriage. But it couldn't be that. Draco wasn't married, he's only 18.  Harry stared intently at the flickering image, for a split second he thought the image had formed someone. He, for a reason he couldn't explain, believed it looked like Hermione but that was preposterous. Hermione would never marry Draco.

Never in a million years.

Harry passed it off as he hadn't gotten enough sleep, so he went to his bedroom and went to sleep. Kreacher had witnessed all of this so he snuck into the drawing-room and fixed the charm the way Draco had taught him and then went to the small cot he slept in.
