Chapter 05

"Oh shit!"

I was holding my mouth when I saw Maverick's name on my phone, he was calling! I rolled my eyes in my room, panicking, looking for what I could do.

When his name disappeared from the screen of my phone, I calmed down. I let out a sigh. He invited me to go home after I finished kissing him last night, but I just nodded. When we were in his car, I didn't even glance at him because shame had consumed my entire system.

I don't know how I'm going to talk to him. Will I apologize? Of course, Charlotte! But I didn't mean that. It's just a dare. But he might get angry, and I didn't even ask for permission!

I lost my drunkenness because I kissed him. It was as if I had returned to my senses after hearing the screams of the people around us.

Now, here I am. I don't know how I'm going to talk to him. Should I just avoid him? Yes, right! Yes, I'll just avoid him!

After a minutes, I heard my phone ringing again and I am sure that it was Maverick who's calling again. I didn't waste my time to see it. I knew that it was him.

I was busy thinking how am I going to talk or approach him when I heard someone knocking on my room's door.

"Charlotte..." It was my mother.

"Po?!" I shouted for her to be able to hear me.

"May bisita ka..." My heart was pounding fastly.

I heard the footsteps of my mother faded away. The thought of Maverick's here makes me feel uncomfortable. I mean, I kissed him! What if he got angry because of that?

Even though I was so freaking nervous, I went out of my room and faced my so-called visitor.

When I was in the last step of the stairs, I closed my eyes and took out a leaden sigh. Even though I was so hesitant, I slowly opened my eyes but quickly stopped when I heard my mother talking to someone.

"Baka pababa na ri-oh, ayan na pala, e," it's my mother's voice.

My eyes remained closed, I still don't want to open it. I was so fucking nervous. I also felt my legs trembling.

"Bakit ka naman nakapikit?" I opened my eyes as fast as I could when I heard that manly voice.

"Uh... a-ano..." I couldn't find the right word to say!

I heard him chuckled and when I looked at him, he smirks! "Ano?" Mapang-asar niyang tanong.

Iginala ko ang paningin ko sa lugar, iniiwas na mahuli niya ang mga mata ko. Paano niya nakukuhang maging mapang-asar habang ako hindi na alam kung anong gagawin?

"B-bakit... bakit k-ka nandito?" Utal-utal na tanong ko.

"Charlotte, doon kayo sa taas ni Maverick!" Napapikit ako nang matindi dahil sa isinigaw ni Mama pero agad din akong umakyat, naramdaman ko ang pagsunod ni Maverick.

Nang makarating sa pinto ng kwarto ko ay tinignan ko siya at nginitian. "Doon ka muna sa living room," itinuro ko 'yung living room.

Nang maisara ko 'yung pinto ng kwarto ko ay pumunta ako sa kama ko at hinawakan ang sentido ko.

Bakit ganoon? Myghad! I don't know how I will talk to him! Omg, ano na?!

Nang mahimasmasan ay naglakad na ako papunta sa living room. "Ano ba 'tong pinasok ko?!" Mariing bulong ko sa sarili.

"Eh, ayoko na!" Akmang babalik na ako sa kwarto pero bumalik din agad ako. "Okay lang, it's now or never..." Mahinang bulong ko.

Nakaupo lang si Maverick nang makarating ako roon. Umubo ako kunwari para maagaw ang atensyon niya na agad namang nangyari.
