Chapter 08

"Bilisan mo, hinahanap ka ni Madam," 

Napangiwi ako nang ibulong 'yon sa akin ni Jilyn na nakasalubong ko sa hallway. I just woke up late! Hindi man lang ako ginising ng mga tao sa bahay! 

Binilisan ko ang lakad ko. I closed my eyes aggressively as I sat at my swivel chair. 

"Good morning, Ms. Charlotte," I slowly opened my eyes just to see my assistant entering my office.

"Morning," pormal na bati ko sa kanya.

"Madam Grace will be back later. She wants to meet you at her office." She sat across from me.

I just nodded at her and exhaled. May inilapag siya sa table ko at tinignan ko 'yun. 

"What is it?" Tanong ko sa kanya. 

Humarap siya sa akin at isinalansan ang mga papel. "You need to sign it, Ms. Charlotte." She smiled at me.

She left my office and just remind me about meeting to Madam Grace and other stuffs. I took my pen and signed all the papers in my table. Pirma doon at pirma dito ang ginawa ko. Hindi naman tumagal iyon kaya binasa ko naman 'yung ibang reports about sa shop ng The Heels.

Even though I am exhausted, I met a client at a restaurant just near our building. 

"You are the great Charlotte Rivera of The Heels, right?" I stand up to greet her. Inilahad niya ang kamay niya kaya kinuha ko ito at nakipag-kamay pagkatapos ay nagbeso-beso kami.

"I am Charlotte Rivera," nakangiting sambit ko sa kaniya.

"I knew it!" I saw how surprised she was. She also held her mouth because of shock.

Niyakap niya ulit ako at naupo nang may malaking ngiti sa kaniyang labi. I just sat and smiled at her, too. We talked about how she will get a heels for her company. Nakita raw kasi niya 'yung shop namin online kaya sinadya niya raw akong kontakin kaso ay 'yung assistant ko ang nakausap niya. 

When we were done talking, I immediately went to our building to talk to Madam Grace. 

Sinabi ko sa kaniya 'yung napag-usapan namin nu'ng kliyente kanina and she wholeheartedly accepted the offer. 

"That's good to hear!" nakangiting usal niya. Her smile telling me that she was really ecstatic to the offer. "Well, kaya naman kita pinapunta is dahil do'n. Anyway, you already closed the deal." tumawa pa siya nang mahina.

"Magagalit sana ako sa 'yo because you were late earlier," pagbibiro niya pa.

Tumungo ako. "I'm sorry, Madam. I woke up late," nahihiyang sambit ko.

"It's okay," nakangiting sabi niya.

I took a deep sighed as I went out of her office. Akala ko ay pagagalitan ako buti nalang nakaligtas ako!

Bumalik ako sa office ko matapos no'n. I sat on my swivel chair and closed my eyes. Hindi ko alam pero ilang minuto ay nakaidlip ako. I just woke up when my phone rang. With sleepy eyes, I looked my phone who's calling. 

"Hello?" Si Mama.

Kinusot ko ang mata ko bago sumagot. "Bakit po?" I asked.

"Nasa trabaho ka pa?" Tanong niya.

"Opo," 

Ilang sandali pa bago siya sumagot. "Nandito ang mga kuya mo. Mag-di-dinner tayo, umuwi ka nang maaga, ah?" She said.

"Sige po." 

When she ended the call, I shut down my laptop na hindi ko pala napatay kanina. I clean my table and went out of my office. Nang makarating sa bahay ay nandoon nga ang dalawa kong Kuya kasama ang asawa nila.
