Chapter 14: Friends

YAZER ELDRICH MONTANO

My shoot of almost two months just ended. Dito ako dumiretso sa Villa ni Jax dahil mukhang may problema na naman ang isa.

I parked my car in front of his house and made my way inside.

"Yow, Yael! Kamusta shoot?" Pierce greeted me while sipping a glass of alcohol. He's sitting on Jax's couch as if he owns it. Pierce will always be pierce.

"Tiring." I just shrugged and sat beside him.

"Salamat sa sagot. Napaka-informative," he says sarcastically. Hindi ko siya pinansin and get me a glass of whiskey on the table beside the couch we're sitting on.

I looked around finding the guest of the night, the one who called us and Pierce noticed that.

"Nasa CR ang gago, jumejebs." I shook my head with how my friend answers. Kahit kelan walang filter ang bibig nito. Hindi na lang ako nagsalita.

After some minutes, Jax came out of the restroom. He did release something by the way he looks.

"Nandito na pala kayo," he said as he walked towards us. I just nodded at him when he looked at me.

"Hindi pre. Wala kami rito, imahinasyon mo lang 'to," Pierce responded jokingly that earned a throw of pillow from Jax. It hit his face that made the other laugh. I just chuckled at them. They rarely act their age. My kids are more mature than them.

"Gago, tol! Pag nabangasan ang mukha ko, isusumbong kita sa fans ko," Pierce hissed as he removed the pillow on his face. Jax just ignored his remarks and sat on the single couch in front of us.

"Problema ba, tol? At nasaan ang asawa mo?" Pierce asks when Jax suddenly turned serious. We heard him heave a sigh.

"We fought earlier. Seems like she forgot about our our 2nd anniversary dahil trabaho pa rin ang inuna niya," Jax started, voice was low and sad. We just sat there listening to him. Seryoso na ring nakikinig si Pierce.

"Since we got married, pakiramdam ko nakikihati ako ng oras at atensyon sa trabaho niya. It's like it's the work she got married to, they're inseparable," he explained. He looks frustrated. Well, Sasha's a career woman.

"Patigilin ko kaya sa pagtatrabaho?" he added. Binatukan naman siya ni Pierce.

"Gago, gusto mo bang hiwalayan ka niya? Alam mo namang masiyadong strong independent woman 'yang asawa mo, e. Magtiis ka na lang, ginusto mo 'yan, 'di ba?" Pierce scolds him. Jax frowns and scoffs at what Pierce said. But I'm sure, he knows he made a point there.

"Pierce has a point," singit ko. They both look at me, waiting for more.

"Before you got married, you already knew that, right? So it'll be selfish if you'll make her stop working just to get her time and attention. Kausapin mo na lang siya, just communicate and try to understand. Communication alone isn't enough," I clarified. Jax looks like a defeated kid.

"Nagtatampo pala ang asawa ko." We all turned our heads to the door. There, standing Sasha with a box of cake and pizza.

She's smiling and her eyes are fixed at Jax.

"Happy 2nd anniversary?" she announced while lifting her both hands.

Jax ran towards her and hugged her. I gave her a small smile when she looked at us while I heard Pierce mumbling about how he got goosebumps all over his body.

"I thought you really forgot," Jax muttered like a kid while still hugging his wife. He even pouted that earned a mock on Pierce.

"Silly! Bakit ko naman kakalimutan, 'di ba? As if makakalimutan ko kung nakikita ko 'yung calendar sa bed side table natin na full of hearts ang araw ngayon," Sasha reveals that made us laugh especially Pierce.
