Last Chapter: Family

YAZER ELDRICH MONTANO

I slowly opened my eyes because I felt thirsty. Lying beside me is a beautiful lady. My wife.

It's a beautiful sight to see every morning God has given me.

Pumikit ako at kinausap siya. "Lord, thank you for giving her to me."

"I love you," I whispered.

"Hmm..." She yawned. "You're early."

Damn. Her bedroom voice can make great music aside from her angelic laugh.

"Good morning, hon." I kissed her lips again and that awaken her.

"Hindi pa 'ko nag-to-toothbrush!" I laughed at her, namumula na ang mukha nito. She's cute.

"I don't care. Come here." Umatras ito palayo sa akin.

"Isa! Tatadyakan kita," banta niya pa.

"Dalawa," pang-aasar ko naman dito. I love teasing her. Nagiging siopao kasi siya bigla kapag naiinis. Nagiging bilog 'yung pisngi.

She's starting to get pissed.

"Get away from me, Montano."

"Why, Mrs. Montano?"

"Uupakan talaga kita, Eldrich."

"Pupugpugin kita ng halik, Solace."

I think I'm crazy 'cause I start seeing smoke coming from her nose and ears. Damn. I felt goosebumps as I looked at her. I gulped and looked away.

I prepared our toothbrush and after a few minutes, pumasok na rin siya ng banyo.

Sabay kami nag-toothbrush, with a little 'harutan,' as she calls it.

It's been 2 years since we got married.

She wants us to be independent, especially the kids so they'll get used to it while growing up.  And I agreed. More quality time for me.

Manang Klarisa still visits us from time to time. I referred Kian, my former manager, to Jax, and he got a new job there in his company. Mang Amer, however, still works as our kid's school service. While we don't hire anyone anymore to clean our house. We create a day that we call, "General cleaning day," every Saturday and our, "Family Day," every Sunday. Those two days are dedicated to our family.

"Good morning, Dad, Ma," Khaki greeted and kissed our cheeks before she took her seat.

"Good morning, Ki!"

"Morning, Dad, Ma," Kaimeer did the same and sit beside her twin sister. My eldest son looks like he didn't get enough sleep.
