2024

"Move your feet?" Taylor asks, bumping her knees into my legs that are blocking her way from sitting next to me on the couch.

"You gotta pay the fee," I say, peeling my eyes away from the TV screen for a second to smirk up at the blonde.

She leans down and pecks my lips. "Can I pass now?"

"No, I was actually looking for the popcorn," I say, grinning crookedly at Taylor who rolls her eyes and resorts to climbing over my legs instead.

I let out a soft laugh, wrapping my arms around her waist before she can sit down and pulling her into my lap.

"Here's your stupid popcorn," she mutters, leaving the plastic bowl on the arm of the couch.

"Thank you, sweetheart," I murmur into her ear, nuzzling her neck.

"Mmm... Shall we continue the movie?" Taylor asks, reaching for the remote on the coffee table.

"Yes, ma'am!" I say, leaning back in my seat while still holding her by the waist with one arm.

Taylor leans all the way back against me when she unpauses Notting Hill and we continue watching it in comfortable silence while taking handfuls of popcorn from the bowl we're sharing.

"After all, I'm just a girl," I quote the movie at the same time as Julia Roberts, right in Taylor's ear, making her giggle softly. "Standing in front of a boy. Asking him to love her."

"If Julia Roberts looked at me like that, I'd be buggered, to quote Hugh Grant," Taylor says as I laugh softly and grab another couple of popcorn pieces to shove in my mouth. "And if I got to stand in front of Hugh Grant from the nineties, I'd also be buggered."

"Being bi is hard, I know," I respond with a heavy sigh, making her laugh again.

Taylor moves to sit next to me instead of my lap eventually, but she keeps her right leg over mine and her hand between her thigh and mine while watching the movie.

When the montage at the end of the movie starts playing, she grabs the remote to lower the volume and turns to me, looking at me deep in thought.

"Yes, dear?" I ask with a small chuckle, looking at her from the corner of my eyes.

Taylor sits up, tucking both her legs under her. She runs her fingers through my hair, pushing a loose strand behind my ear.

"You know that last scene, when William goes to that movie premiere or something with Anna to support her? They're getting out of the limo, during that last montage," Taylor says and I smile amusedly, giving her a small nod.

"Yes, dear, we did just watch it together."

Taylor rolls her eyes at me and squishes my cheeks. "Stop calling me 'dear' sarcastically."
