Ashley:

I laid in bed that night staring up at my ceiling.

I counted the glow in the dark stars I had had as a child.

I never could get rid of them.

I guess I always wanted to be a kid even though a part of me wanted to grow up.

I sighed and turned on my stomach for the billionth time.

The bedside clock read 2:36 am.

Right now Ash was probably with his mate at the Pearl, a club in the city.

Lance had gone too, although reluctantly.

I knew he was still worried about Raven, and also me not wanting to go had a little to do with it.

He was extremely protective of me.

It was my birthday and yet I wasn't out partying, enjoying myself.

Instead I was in bed thinking.

The guests were long gone and all the equipment packed away.

I had really enjoyed it.

I had gotten dozens of presents and a surprise red Porsche from my amazing parents.

Ash got a black Camaro like he had always wanted.

Overall the party was a success.

So then why wasnt I out with my brother celebrating turning the big 1-8?

I closed my eyes and sighed.

I couldn't deny why.

Those blue eyes kept popping up in my head.

And those full lips.

And sideswept black hair.

Why was I thinking about him?

About .. I frowned as I realized he had never told me his name.

I was thinking about this mysterious guy and I didn't even know his name!

Great!

I groaned and threw off the covers.

It was hot in here, I needed some air.

All this thinking was giving me a damn headache!

I opened my door and slowly and quietly crept down the stairs.

I knew mom and dad would be asleep by now, as well as my little brother Issac.

Everyone else, or those wolves who chose to live in the pack house that is, were out partying.

I walked outside to the edge of the woods and stripped, stashing my pajamas in a hidden hole.

I shifted into my white wolf.

It was werewolf tradition.

The Alpha female children were born all white. Male Alpha children were all black, just like Ash was.

Beta children were usually a rusty color or a mixture of black and white.

I stretched before I ran.

I loved the feel of the wind on my fur.

It was relaxing yet exciting.

The trees blurred as I dodged them.

After about 15 minutes I started feeling my thoughts clear.

No more thinking about this mysterious guy.
