I was trying to do my French homework, but the only thing I could think about is if I should tell her. I know these strange dreams have to mean something. As I put the cap on my pen, my thoughts drifted away once again. Until someone knocked on the door.
"Y/N? It's Lydia."
In one swift moment, my body tensed up. "Are you wearing your headphones?" She asked, knocking once again. "N-No, I'm busy with French." Lydia opened the door and sat down on my bed. "Mom is working late again, shall I order some pizza or something?" "Yeah, that sounds great." I gave her a weak smile.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked, placing one of her hands on mine. My eyes widened. "Why would you think that?" Lydia pointed her finger at my notebook. "The only thing you've written down is your name." "Maybe I just don't feel like doing it." She let out a laugh. "I know that feeling. Ms. Morrell won't mind, you're one of her best students."
Lydia stood up and walked towards the door. "Lydia?" I asked. "Yeah?" "Can I tell you something?" She sat back down, taking both my hands in hers. "Of course! You're my little sister, you can tell me anything." When she gave me a reassuring smile, I knew I had to tell her. "I'm having these weird nightmares lately. I hear people screaming and yelling for help, like, they're dying." Lydia bit her lip. "Do you think I'm crazy?" I asked, my voice a bit shaky. "No sweetie." She pushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "I don't think you're crazy. I'm happy you told me this, sometimes it's better to talk about it." "Thanks Lyds, for understanding me."
"Well, I think I'm going to order our pizzas. The usual?" I nodded and she left my room.

Little did I know that Lydia wasn't going to order right away.

"Scott, I think it's happening to my sister." She whispered.
Of course, I was listening to her on the top of the stairs.
What? I was curious.
"I'm sure. She's having the same symptoms as I have. I'm serious, Scott!" Scott babbled something on the other side. "Yes, I know for sure she's a banshee."
"I'm a what?" I appeared from the corner. Lydia's eyes widened. "I need to hang up, bye Scott." I walked over to her. "Lydia, what is wrong with me? What is a banshee?"
"Y/N..." She said, wrapping her arms around me. "This is going to be very confusing, but I'm going to help you through it, okay?" I didn't know what she was talking about, but I nodded.
